This is just crazy to watch.
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/d...44.html#agal_0 The video only if you don't care for the commentary of the article. It was an interesting point about sharks and deer though.

Pretty sure you could spread out some nice fresh carpaccio just from the wipers of the car that got this on video. A little EVOO, Citrus, maybe some capers and some coarse ground salt... quite the track-side snack.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is. I've never encountered a deer crossing in front of me either but it's a real thing and people often die from impact. Just imagine speeding along a road somewhere and actually encountering a situation like this! All in all both the driver and deer were lucky.

Was involved in another incident years before this one, where the deers head actually broke out the passenger window of the car in front of me. I'm sure the deer was attempting to jump at the last minute, but it appeared as if he rammed the car. The deers head penetrated the interior, the body rolled on top of the car, the momentum of the car and the impact of the deer almost decapitated the deer. This was the first time my car got a bath by a deer that look like it exploded in front of me. The end result was that the passenger side of the car in front of me look like it had been t-boned, the deer rolled off the car before me, landed directly in front of me and did about $2k worth of damage to my car. |

Here in America, the deer normally don't form a herd that size, especially with males and females together. Usually a herd is mainly female deer (does) and the young deer that aren't weaned yet. The male deer (bucks - typically the ones with antlers) tend to live alone and only group together during mating season when they are chasing the does. Other than that, yes, deer vs car accidents are quite common in the US, but it is usually one deer that gets hit, not a herd of them. |

I’ve had a few close calls with deer. We have property up in the mountains in PA. Had a buck jump over my car. He was running in a field that was elevated next to the road and took a flying leap. Pretty scary.

I didn't hit one, he hit me. I had the right of way.
Needless to say, he died. Vehicle sustained only minor damage |
