then your screen is lying to you or automatically resizing it because I downloaded the file to my desktop and checked it twice in photoshop. its definitely 1024... but suit yourself, if you don't want to resize it then just know why it was left out come poll time.

Way to make friends.

Right-click on the image file and you'll see it's not a max of 800. I don't know which software you're using to resize, but you normally can specify 800 for the width and tell it maintain the proportion. Maybe you specified 800 for the height and it forced the width to 1024.

No need getting bent out of shape.

Hahaha, you are seriously MAKING all of this a bigger issue than it needs to be. I was trying to be nice, a lot of people in the past contests we've had seem to forget the rules, or just don't bother reading them. I always try to keep an eye out for those kinds of things so that everyone who wants to participate and submit a photo can have it entered into the poll and not get a PM saying their entry was left out (I think 4 out of the last 7, I have had to be the bearer of that bad news which is never fun). I introduced these contests so that photo pros and noobs could share their work alike and our contests can try to include as many people as possible who are brave enough to submit an entry. So in the interest of these things gaining popularity, I think we'd all agree the more "acceptable" entries we have the better.

If you want to leave your photo the way it is... fine by me. As I said before I was only trying to be nice and make sure you knew it was oversized and wouldn't be included in the poll if you didn't fix it by then end of the submission period.

You want to have a bad attitude about it, then thats also fine by me but you can go F off if you're just going to bring some bogus drama into this thread... this isn't the place for it and I'm not going to let you ruin E90's contest cuz you want to start some shit with me.

It's 1024x681. Right click on the image file in your photo folder, not the image open on your computer screen. (You may have adjusted your screen to have more or less resolution than most of us).

If that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

This is strange. When I "right-click" on his image in the thread, it is 800x370. When I copy the link from photobucket and open it in a new window, it still shows 800x370. That was with IE7. I also opened the image with Firefox2 and it also says 800x370.

I then saved a copy to my hard drive, and it still says 800x370. When I open it with Microsoft Digital Image Pro 7.0 (I need to get PS....), it says it is 800x370 at 96dpi.

Strange.....

maybe a Mac/PC difference?

All I know is when I download it into iPhoto and PS it says 1024 so somehow it needs to get fixed so its 800px or under on both Macs and PCs.

Yeah, good idea, he could right-click on one of our "conforming" images to see what the measurements read on his machine, then duplicate that reading.

I like to be part of these "contests" but I am no real competitor. I am a photographer for car & model shizam but different scene compared to u guys. I have a olympus e510, its like a midget fighting a 6'5 wrestler versus Nikon D300-700

More pictures are ruined by the loose screw behind the shutter than anything else.........

It's not the equipment so much as the skills of the photographer. Someone with an eye for light and composition will take far superior pictures with a P&S than a dolt with the latest and greatest D-SLR and a $7,000 lens. Now, if the skills of the photographer are the same, then equipment differences will clearly play a role in the image quality.

Thanks, my dad was a great photographer. I started up a bit over a year ago from model agency/management to doing my own modeling photos. Got good but I stepped out of that niche looking to do all sorts of photography which I'm learning... eager to keep expanding my skills than in future get another camera.

Just a quick reminder to everyone, when you want to post images to the forum, I highly suggest you use the attachment feature to directly post them on the forum rather then link the from a free image hosting site.

Why? Well, I know I always get frustrated when I open an old thread only to see red Xs all over the post; This happens because the thread was old and the images were removed from the original hosting site.

I probably shouldn't encourage using the forum attachments as it sucks up major bandwidth and harddrive space, but I don't care I know its more useful to everybody out there when the images are actually viewable.

So by all means, attach away, when our harddrive fills up, we'll just buy more harddrive space!
