N55 Compression Test + Oil Change Prerequisites

2014 BMW M135i Auto (Crank - No Start):

A small leak from the oil filter housing has caused the serpentine belt to slip off its pulleys. This resulted in parts of the serpentine belt being shredded then pulled in to the crank case through the seal (pictured below).
I thought maybe a chunk of the belt may have got wrapped around the timing chain and knocked it out a tooth or two. However, I spoke to a garage that specialises in these repairs and they have recommended to run a compression test before continuing any further work on the car. Mechanic said in the 10+ times he’s dealt with these issues the pieces of the belt don’t cause issues with the timing chain but there is a piece of metal that is part of or around the crank seal and that can wreak havoc if it reaches the cam sprocket, valves, pistons etc.

Before I run a compression test I want to drain the remaining oil to try and minimise the amount of shredded belt sitting in the pan. I was planning on using an engine flush and then draining the oil. I was then going to strain out any pieces of belt from drained oil and reflush the engine a few times using this method to try and remove as much debris as possible. After that drain and replace with fresh oil + oil filter before running a compression test. Just wanted a 2nd opinion on this. I don’t plan on running the engine during flushing, I’m mainly just trying to remove as much gunk from the crank case and oil pan as possible.
