Monaco
When was the track built?

In 1215, sort of – that’s when Monaco was first established as a colony of Genoa.
When was its first Grand Prix?

It was 1929 when racing engines first reverberated around the Principality, after cigarette manufacturer Antony Noghes decided to organise a race with his pals from the Automobile Club de Monaco. The race was part of the calendar in the first year of the Formula 1 World Championship in 1950, and hasn’t been off it since 1955.
What’s the circuit like?

Incredibly narrow and totally iconic. Nelson Piquet memorably described driving around Monaco as “like riding a bicycle around your living room”… which is fair. Despite that, it’s a challenge that nearly all drivers love, forcing them to put their skills on the line and rewarding millimetric accuracy. Overtaking on the tight streets is harder, however, with the 2003 Grand Prix witnessing a grand total of zero passing moves!
Why go?

A holiday on the French Riviera, plus the chance to watch Formula 1 cars pounding past places where Monegasques usually go to buy a pint of milk? It really is as fun as it sounds. On top of that, the chance to walk the track after a day’s hard lapping – or even enjoy your dinner on it at one of the terrasse bars – is not to be missed.
Where is the best place to watch?

Assuming you can’t get into one of the overhanging apartment blocks around the circuit (or onto a boat) shoot for anything from Grandstands L to P, which are clustered around the Swimming Pool section of the track, and where drivers hurl their cars through the tight chicane at 200km/h. Or, for a more spectacular vista, try Grandstand B, overlooking the ritzy Casino Square.
2022 race highlights:

So after the sadly cancelled GP at Imola, it's time for Monaco.
For a lot of people not an interesting race as overtaking on this narrow street circuit is almost impossible.
But somehow Monaco always delivers with drama. Either crashes, qualifying or strategic mistakes or ingenuity.
It is a very important race for the general opinion. No driver is rated to how often he has won Bahrain or Montréal (or fill in pretty much every other circuit), but there is a definate status when you're a 2, 3 or 4 time Monaco GP winner. It might be the quintessential GP of the old world.

Will Checo, as a street circuit specialist win this race?
For sure the pressure will be up him as it will be up LEC, here racing for his home audience.

My prediction:
1. PER
2. ALO
3. VER
4. RUS
5. LEC

Max,Checo then Fernie is my prediction.
After Checo's suspicious quali crash last year to keep pole I can't see Max giving this one away if there are no more shenanigans in quali. Anyone found crashing on purpose in quali for grid advantage after investigation should be DQ from the race.

F1 teams getting to Monaco could be a problem with trucks and equipment stuck at evacuated Imola I hate to say, some of Bologna airport is under water too? On top of that some logistics could have flood damaged equipment.

Only 500 km between both circuits. Just a matter of getting out of Imola (complicated as we speak).

With continuing rain and site evac' still in force at Imola it's a matter of waiting and hoping.. will some of those tyre and equipment laden trucks sitting in the murky flood water even start up?

Red Bull is due for some misfortune. Ferrari is due for some good fortune. Aston Martin - especially in the hands of ALO - only suffers in the straights.

I'm going with:
ALO
LEC
SAI

Charlie crashed too much in the last races to win the Monaco qualifying. Because the Ferrari balance and setup is currently unpredictable.
The 2021 Ferrari was better and faster with Mattia Binotto .

And we can get the Ferrari pit-things , as usual it's just Italian .
The Monaco race ?
That's actually hang your wagon in the row ...

1- UnLeashTheLion
2- Checo
3- ALO
4- Charlie
5- The Russell boy

I think the Ferrari quali pace can really set the tone here. If Charles gets it together.

From what we have seen in first 5 races , the 2023 Ferrari is very bad with the tyres and the lack of pace .
The Monaco race is always a gamble with yellow flags and the safety car .
Well , hopefully we can get the necessary tension and excitement ..

I think It's for MAX ..

It'll need a lot of ticks for that to happen, Coulthard has made a damning overview of Leclerc and it was Charlie that was setting his own car up with a measure of guesswork in the previous races as Ferrari had run out of ideas.

Mother nature screwed us all this weekend for the Imola race .
Damn ! It feels like a waste of time and I'm very disappointed...

I'm so sorry for the Italian people . I just hear already 13 deaths !
May they RIP ...

It's like a curse on Imola with that happening and at this time too, those poor people having to put up with that and indeed I'm just as disappointed also, feels like a wasted tract of time in waiting again for Monaco.
Lets pray there are no more casualties from this awful event.

Sure . And I just read that a new threat emerged with mud/landslides .

The damage is still visible in Belgium and is still not recovered from 2021...

Some good news is that Ferrari has stepped in and made a donation to help the victims of these terrible floods.

Interesting to see all the different predictions.
Monaco is just so difficult to predict. Maybe that's why driver are held in higher esteem if they win it. It's not just a matter of having the fastest car, it's a mix of having everything working your way (incl. the team) and even then a little luck works with you.

I think this is Max's. If not for the Q3 crash, I think he'd have stuck it on Pole and won last year. I dont think he's forgotten that and will be driver to beat.
