Heavy oil use after revision

Hi,

Last January I had the engine of my bmw 1 series rebuilt. Reason for this was the high oil consumption and wear and tear parts. After the overhaul I had an oil change after +-2000km on the advice of the garage. Now we are 2000km further again, with a total of 4000km after revision.

Last Friday I saw smoke coming from the turbo (after 5 minutes of driving). It turned out that the oil level was low. After refilling 1 liter, it is back to normal. I also sometimes smell a rather strong oil/petrol smell when the engine is idling.

The garage says that high oil consumption at first is normal and advises me to wait and see. What do you guys think about this?

The car in question is the 2012 BMW 1 series, F20. It features the N13 gasoline 116i engine.
