What is the point of this extra antenna? Isn't the standard antenna working well enough?

My friend the extra antenna is for two way radio to talk to each other. Yes some of the cars have the rear lights replaced for the tint look.

One is indeed a regular 118i Sport line, and the other one actually is a regular a 120D modified to look like the Sport line. The rear bumper is a DIY job. I think it is some material from 3M, and at some point heat needs to be applied from a hair dryer. I am sorry I can't help with more of the details, because I was not there to witness it. It was an artistic and time consuming job. Maybe someone from my region will answer your questions in more satisfactory details.

Cheers
