I have a 2013 328i E93. I have the Bluetooth CIC factory idrive. I decided to go with the top tier CarPlay retrofit from bimmerdirect. It’s supposed to be plug and play. I am unable to switch back and forth from original idrive and new system. When I try and do a hard restart by holding the volume down for 70 seconds I get a “no signal” warning on my parameter error main page. I also do not have any sound when I try to play Apple Music but I can play the radio through the buttons under the CarPlay on the dash. When holding the menu button it should bring me to the original idrive screen but it doesn’t. What did I do wrong?

Hello, did you buy a CarPlay or Android screen? Adjust the screen size in the settings and turn off the "Original vehicle parameter error prompt" option. You need to enter the original vehicle system and select Bluetooth output or Aux as the audio source to hear sound.
