Aperture vs Lightroom

What do you use and why? I was going to revive an old thread but the person said Photoshop instead of LR which is very different.

Lately, I've felt that Aperture is lacking in Presets and although the UI is great in terms of editing it does only the bare minimum. I'm going to give LR a try again but I remember hating the UI and the fact multi-gesture wasn't supported (lol I know). Then I came across this:

http://bibblelabs.com/

Bibble5 looks like it's LR and Photoshop merged into one...just wanted to see if anyone has used it.

Anyway, what are your specs, what do you use and why? I'll start:

2.53 MBP
Aperture
Multi-gesture support

I also use a 2.53 MBP, I use LR and I don't find the UI to be too bad at all. I've never used Aperture...

Lightroom for management and when I have a lot of images to alter minimally (when the client wants all images). Otherwise, I use Bridge to view and mark selects and then just bring the final picks into Photoshop to edit them individually (when the client wants my selects and processing).

eight-core MacPro 16G of ram

2.4Ghz MacBook Pro. I downloaded LR last night....this thing is amazing! So much better than Aperture. The ability to make quick easy masks as well as the gradients ability is really nice.

Do you still hate the UI?

Not really, I just don't like the way it stores files. I like having separate folders or events and LR doesn't seem to let me do this (or I don't know how). Other than that, having to switch between the Develop and Library tabs isn't ideal but isn't too bad either

i have been using LR for the past year and love it. i just looked at the bibble site and it seems very impressive, but again the presets and bridge to photshop keeps me with LR for now.

Quick Question: Is there a way to draw in Lightroom? All I want to make is a box to cover my license plate....I'm guessing I have to do this in Photoshop?

Not sure about lightroom but I just use the Blur tool in PS. It's on the toolbar with the Sharpen and Smudge tool.
