I said shame because they give same bhp for 118..ACS and Hartge both gives 205bhp.. The difference just on 116. That's why I think is a shame

Much quicker than that, as mine has "only" 136bhp (no tuning box installed!!).

It has to do with the limits of the factory ECU. The key difference is that the Hartge box plugs only to various sesnors, whereas the ACS one, plugs also to the ECU. It is more "intrusive" as a tuning option.

So how is your driving pattern? How long are your trips, what is the average speed, and what RPM do you mostly drive at?

I haven't been able to located a dealer who does either of these kits in New Zealand . If I order the ACS could I install it safely myself without voiding the warranty on my 116i ?
I'm not a mechanic.

Does the ACS kit provides more torque and power at lower revs and speeds too ? Or it is only noticeable at higher revs and speed ?

Thanks

116i Auto AC Scnitzer Tune

Hi Fanis

Did you friend ever fit the AC Schniter tune to his 116i Auto?

If so how does it compare to the standard?

I'vejust taken delivery of my 116i Auto Msport. Not run it in yet, but very interested in upgrading to ACS tune.

Since OBD tuning is available now I wouldn't go for a piggyback module anymore...

I have the Hartge-box, and very happy with it. I didn't want to go with the AC one because of the requirement for 98 octane.

Can you please inform us about OBD tuning for the 1-series?

So far in Belgium there are two companies that have OBD-tuning available for the F-series (since a couple of weeks):
I'm looking at them for an upgrade for my F20 116i. Here's a guy with an 114i (which is practically a downtuned 118i) who did the OBD-tuning at BR performance. Results; around 220hp and 310nm torque:

This is not really ODB tuning though. You have to send the ECU to Belgium. They will tune it and send it back. Might be a good solution for someone that lives in the area..

I have the same question. It's a lot horse power more than the original performance figures are, considering it will be 5% down if you use 95 instead of 98(They told me). I'd like to tune my Bimmer but really don't know if this is the right way to go. It's cheap too in comparison to Hartge or ACS.

On the other hand the already did 100+ Bimmer F-models and the Peugeot RCZ-R has got 270 bhp from almost the same 1.6 engine. EDJE-BMW his 114i now sprints in 6.1 sec from 0-101kmh and thats insane if you ask me. I'd haven't seen any performance clips on YouTube yet. Hopefully EDJE-BMW will post a clip soon. Also check out the https://nl-nl.facebook.com/BRPerformanceBelgium to see more of the tuned cars by BR-performace.

I like to hear more thoughts about this tuning option from BR-performance!

The engine itself has been made to produce quite a lot more power in other cars, so I think it can cope with it. I would be more worried about the cooling system in the car, which is not made for that kind of continous power. If you only use the power in short bursts, you should be fine, but beware of burying that throttle pedal for longer periods of time.

You mean pushing hard at trackdays or running down the German autobahn at high speeds? Now theirs a 114i on Facebook that's producing 214bhp also from BR-performance. Strange to see that the figures are so diverent i comparison to EDJE-BMW his 114i.

Both. I guess reprogramming the engine management has taken away the 210 km/h speed limit as well.

i think if we have that hp we need to change our cooling system maybe 125i's intercooler could help to have more cooiling so it could be better than stock. But i would like to see how that 114i is going and is it safety to have that power...

Every BMW at BR-Performance gets it's own specific software into the ECU, for the best performance. So if you have already some modifications on your Bimmer , you get other specs.
That's the reason I have now 233hp and 321Nm
