Unhappy Center console removal

Hi,

Has anyone here attempted to remove the center console? If yes, I need your help on one thing. Is it possible to remove the compartment storage from the console ?
I want to install the armrest and I found this piece online:

If it is possible I will do it, else I will change the whole center console.

Tnx for your help!

PS: I can't just buy the lid because I don't have the 2 holes where the lid is supposed to attach.

Hi.

Armrest (which is just the lid in fact: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_8584) requires a center console for it: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_8582.
