DSC OFF locks up the diff a bit doesn't it? So you can hoon. And diff lock when you're stuck in the snow sounds like good news to me!

I also recall James May saying something to the tune of "The Stig has turned off the car's stability control all together (DSC OFF), which locks up the rear differential for extra *hooligan*?". It was at this point he was hurled across the rear seats of the 760Li the Stig was drifting.

That is possible. I can surely feel the differential brake feature work in DSC Off, but I am not quite sure if it is doing anything at all in other modes, as the stability control keeps interfering with my driving when I want to find out. I am guessing no differential brake, but I guess only the BMW engineers know for sure.

Jethro would probably drive circles around you. He's one hell of a driver and it only takes some viewing of his previous work to realize that. He's usually not as jerky, and it looks like that complaint's been tossed at the M135i more than once.

I think the point was that the M135i is crying out for an LSD, which is now available as an option for the M235i and presumably soon for the M135i.

With an LSD its very likely that an M235i will post quicker times than an E90 M3 thanks to its low down torgue and ability to punch out of corners really hard. With the new M3 and M4 due out in June, the bar will have been raised (they also have turbos and low down torque), so you don't have that unnatural situation where the M-light is faster than the M

Depends on what track. You can argue that there are tracks more suited for the M235i and others better for the M3 but to say the E9X M3 lacks the torque coming out of corners hasn't driven one properly or at all. I'm a huge fan of the new M235i and have hooned it hard this past week but even with LSD it'll still be slower than the now 7-year old E9X M3

The LSD should have been released from the start of M135i
Or there is another meaning for "performance" ?
