Long weekend - but got the main body of this done. Starting with the sandwich beam - adding the rafters, then the long task of adding the cross sections (which I found it easier to jump out the 2nd story window and set from above - knees don't agree)

From that, I was able to set the light. Needed to redo the outlet in the corner which hasn't worked in 20 years now....ran new wire and a proper GFCI for outdoor use.

Next is a good power wash and a cedar slat board that I'll be placing over the red CMU wall. Also determined that I need one more row across the top, which I'll probably do tonight.

Funny, they don't seem very level, and all the knick-knacks are sliding off

The wife has me slaving away on the new nursery, just a preliminary pic. She had the job to order the wall paper and as you can see we can up a little short lol. Need to fill holes, paint, and finish that out. Then it'll be a new light fixture and starting to buy furniture.

Finally finished coffee bar area. Took way longer than it should have because I decided to try using dowels instead of pocket screws and.... well I gave up on that shit and went back to pocket screws. Only used dowels on the top.

Yeah it's nice to make exactly what you want for the exact space. I could of done a better job though. I rushed it at the end after wasting a lot of time on the dowels. Also the wood selection was junk. Luckily we are going for a more rustic look so it works fine.

If I ever have the space for a proper wood working shop area and up my skills I would probably go back and redo some of the stuff I've made and do them a bit better with hardwoods etc.

Doesn't seem worth it right now at my skill level.

See the slidig wooden walls behind the car? I made them on one Saturday. Alone. I love this thing, every day. Self made stuff is just more „worth" to me.

Summer garage project...

I've been slowly nearing completion over the summer. Switched to a wall mounted GDO. Love it! Now I'm searching for some larger garage wall art to finish up.

Looks great man! What did you use for the wainscoting? I can't tell if its metal or plastic.

Really nice transformation. I like what you did.

Asking - no concerns (impressions, tears, or cracks) with the quickjacks on the tiles? Thought of putting these in the main bay - but held off. So I only did swisstrax in the one.

Thank you! It's corrugated tin on the bottom and plywood "siding" on top.

I have no issues with the tiles. The Quickjacks spread the load enough it hasn't been a problem.

What's your pressure washer setup? I'm trying to make one that I don't have to move around.

The pressure washer is the AR Blue 630 with Mosmatic sprayer set up. It flows over 2gpm. Works beautifully . Got the setup from OG. I'll probably end up with a hose reel. Thought I would try it without first to save $200+.

While my wife and I wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more on permits to build our house we decided to have some fun on the property and build a "tiny cabin" that we can camp in, hang out, or even work remotely from.

It's going to be 119sqft and 14 feet tall which is exactly 1 sqft under the size and height limit for a permit. LOL.

It sits on pier blocks and thus has no "permanent" foundation. Electrical will be solar and batteries. Fresh and gray water tanks will take care of the off the grid water supply. The permitting department can go suck it.

Framing is underway on this long weekend.

Solidly 50% about needs and 50% about "F YOU" to the city and the "concerned neighbor" who has already called the city on us twice. Once for cutting down a tree without a permit (no permit needed, it was dead) and once for the cabin.
