The more I look at that front grille, the more I'm convinced they're going for a Rolls-Royce front-end look

Why can't they make the entire front nose into two really big grills? Then all they have to do is put the lights and the safety nannies inside the grills. Let's call it a day. This focus group must love HUGE grills.

I was thinking the X8 would be perfect for the wife and I with no kids and very adventurous so throwing kayaks and bikes on the back with hiking gear in the boot would be perfect. We don't have any need whatsoever for the third row, so I imagine I fit the demographic that BMW was aiming for here. If it has a captain's chair option for the second row, I'm sold. I love the X7 but the entire third row is just not needed for my application. I keep my third row folded all the time and most folks thinks it's a four seater because I never have them up.

What's the rationale for changing the name from X8M to XM? Tacit message to the market that X9 will never be made and XM is the pinnacle?

My thinking is that the XM is going to feel more a part of the iX family or at least a blend of DNA with that language than necessarily a linear extension of the existing X lineup. The "XM" branding would signal that cross purpose as well as the vehicles ability to straddle the line between the two lineups (iX and core X). We already know it will not have traditional powertrains and will be a hybrid technology demonstrator in addition to the brand flagship.

Can we get something a bit bigger please...something along the lines of a Kenworth or Mack would be ideal.

Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel here? "X8M" works just fine!
