Nice man! That's the most unique mod that I have ever seen on this forum! It makes a whole lot of sense too. You can drop the ride when driving and then raise it when negotiating steep driveways/ unpleasant surfaces.

You should put this into your own thread. I'm sure a lot of people would want to see this..

I like Nürburgring-pics! How do you like the x-drive on the Ring?

To put it in a nut shell, very nice. Always traction and more than enough power.

The downer is the suspension, which - to my tasting - is way to soft for a proper racer! The adaptive suspension seems way better and would be my choice now.

The standard sDrive suspension actually is way harder than the xDrive!!!!

Some more then:

Suspension softness comes down to personal preference and driving style as well. I prefer softer suspension than most others for track driving. Precision is not as important to me as predictable grip when the car is floating around the corners. With stiff suspension, the car is more unsettled by small bumps and cambered corners.

Thanks for your thoughts Ezios. I waited and waited until I found a 125i with adaptive. Many of the reviews I've read including Chris Harris' seem to think the adaptive suspension is the first option you should tick when ordering a 1 series...

Looks amazing, what wheels / tyres have you put on it? They look like 19" Zito's I had on my 320d. Can you state the Width and Offset of front and rear? Also have you lowered the car, if so which manufacturer did you go for?

Thanks

They are Zito 8.5 X 18, the offset is 40mm if I recall correct. Fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport tires, 225/40/18.they are a bit stretched on the rims, but I didn't want any wider tires on these crappy roads we have here, and the rims are not available in 8 inches. Lovered about 35mm with H&R springs.

Welcome to the forum
Great wheels indeed. Just be careful about scratching the wide rims in tight places. BMW recommends 7 1/2 " with 225 tyres which gives a lot of rubber to deal with the dangers in narrow parking houses and city traffic in general.

Thank you Yes, I am careful, but luckily the rims are not very expensive, so if I have to replace one or two, it´s something I can live with.

I see you live in Oslo, have you by any chance bought your cars at Bavaria?
