Mine's all gone quiet but mine is on the drivers side but very annoying. I'd take the door skin off and drive round with it off to see if it's that making a noise first. Then look for something inside. I'd replace the door clips too, you can buy them from eBay if it's easier.

Having said this, it seems I have to keep applying Gummi every week or two or the damn noise comes back.

It seem that the rattle appears to be a lot worse in warm weather so since it is mostly cold in Cape Town at the moment it isn't hugely annoying.

Me too. I have to reapply every couple of hundred miles or so. Or if it rains heavily. Or if there's a y in the day. . Seems to last a bit longer if you give it a good clean with isopropyl alcohol first. Haven't really noticed any imporovement now that the weather is cooler.

Has anybody yet established which bit of rubber it actually is? Mine seems to be coming from the B pillar so I'm suspecting the rubber attached to the leading edge of the rear door, but I'm treating everything in sight, just to be thorough.

I'm assuming this was suggested for my mirrors, not the door seals?

You can use it on door seals too.

Has anyone tried adjusting the door strike plate?

I stupidly cleaned round door shuts with detailing spray on my new f20. The doors have given a slight rubbing noise when going over bumps since. I tried TFR and seems to have done the job! so far.

A bit more experience with this problem tells me it's all about keeping the rubbers and the metalwork they come into contact with scrupulously clean. The culprit is the rubber along the top edge of the door, the bit that's textured to look like felt. Continual reapplication of Gummi Pflege will eventually make it worse unless you clean it all up before you apply the new lot. A good rub-down with acetone will clean and degrease the rubber, although I don't know what that will do to your clear coat if you get it on the painwork so be VERY careful! Use whatever substance you dare to clean the doorframes too and you'll probably find you won't need the Gummi immediately afterwards.

NOTE: I can't be held responsible for any damaged paintwork so do your research before applying solvents of any kind.

Take it back to the dealer for the rattle, the creaks are the top of the window rubber where it meets the bodywork. I wash the inside of the door and the rubber every wash and it goes away and comes back when it's time to wash it again! I've tried everything including IPA and Gummi afterwards but washing at the same time as the car works just as well.
