116i Auto, just completed first 450 km, 8.5 L / 100 km till now.
avg. speed is around 33 km/h, all in heavy city traffic...

I think (hope ) it'll be decreased after first 1.500-2.000 km...

116d 5.0 l/100 km - overall

Best trip was 4.2 l/100 km (consumption wise )

The most noticeably is that it's almost impossible to get it over 6.5 l/100 km.

Today I got 5.0L/100km driving from Oslo Airport through the city, with an average speed of 95 km/h. That is quite fast by Norwegian standards. Previously I have only managed to get that good consumption figures at lower speeds.

118i Manual

Average about 43.4 mpg (mainly stop-start motorway traffic). With the roadworks on the m1 and m62 but with traffic moving I managed 54mpg in Eco-Pro on the way home tonight!

Most of my journeys are in comfort / Eco pro on the motorway and sport mode around town etc

I wonder why in South Africa our fuel consumption is higher than the rest of the world!
Are we just heavy footed petrol heads?

Nice, fuel economy. 95 km/h FAST??? Come to South Africa, that's what we do in our suburbs, lets not get started on our highways especially if you have a BMW we are known to get caught by the cops doing +200 km/h

That explains your consumption. Remember that the power needed to overcome aero drag is proportional to the velocity cubed, and the F20/F21 is about as aerodynamic as a brick.

I haven't even got my 118i M-Sport yet. I'm Only getting it in December but I've been driving around in a brand new F30 316i. Fuel consumption sitting at around 9.4l/100km heavy traffic city driving. Only done 2500km on it :P

M135i 8AT ca. 4K miles

Mix of A and B roads, little M'way 31.5 - 33 mpg. Pretty amazing really given that I never think about economy when driving.

The first 2K miles it was more like 27-28 mpg
