Comical? Look at the post right above yours reflecting a c8 with the most god awful fit and finish. Unlike you I have owned nearly high end car and have also tracked most of them. You sound like a teenager ricer boy who is obsessed with 0-60 times. Don't be a peasant ....

Is the next z06 gonna be badass? Hell yeah. Is the fit finish gonna suck? You can bet on it. Am I still going to purchase one? You bet.

I’m not comparing my M3 to a Z06 🙄

It will compete with a Cayman GT4, 911 GTS or GT3.
While those cars will cost much more, they are engineered to a higher standard.

I do commend Chevy and Corvette team for building the Z06 - its an incredible motor. Hopefully the engine holds up and doesn’t have any issues.

Yeah hopefully they don't have stop sales like Porsche and GT3/GT4. Having engine replacements on brand new cars.

Dealing with Porsche and Chevy on engine replacements is much different.

991.1 GT3s get new engines without issue and Porsche offered a 10yr warranty on them before the issue even blew up.

991.2 GT3s have no issues neither do any of the RS cars.

Or a crank hub issue or a Vanos issue or a Rod bearing issue. Sorry, I forgot we are talking about
Chevy and not BMW😘😳🤣🤣😉

In the real world with fluids and gas the Stingray is 3647.

So the Z06 will probably be around 3700 pounds most likely. maybe a bit less with the CF wheels.

seems high considering i weighed my 458 with all fluids and 1/2 tank of gas at 3250.

LOL, I've owned Corvettes over the past 45 years and while I do miss some things about my teen years I will admit to having Bow Tie blood in my veins ! As for your 'peasant' remark and high end car remark, just proves you're a pompous little jerk.

??? Me thinks the flat plane crank, 5.5 liter engine in the ZO6 is engineered to a very high standard. Corvette engineering is incredible for the simple fact that what they can build for the $$ Porsche cannot compete and that's OK, for this thread is about celebrating the new ZO6.

While pricing has not been disclosed yet, when it is you can bet there won't be anything at it's price point to compete with it.

Ok boomer. If you re-read my post my peasant remark it is you comparing the c8 to higher end cars. Again, the c8 is a great car but the overall build quality is embarrassing. My comment of "you get what you pay for has meaning". You admit to having "bow tie in my veins" so atleast you finally admit your bias.

There is or was a current stop sale on 718 GT4. Owners getting engines replaced at the dealer before they even get to drive 1 mile in their cars.

This is extremely intriguing. High revving, NA V8 that sounds incredible, engine with DCT and the performance to back it. Im not a corvette guy and honestly wasn't jumping all over the C8 when it came out like a lot of people were, but this is a very nice package and Im reading starting prices of $87k. Thats a lot of car for the money.

Every car company has had engine issues and recalls.

Difference is porsche mans up and fixes things. they replaced all the engines on the .1 GT3s and put a 10 year warranty on them.

GM, from what i can remember, still has class action lawsuits regarding the C7 Z06 cooling problems and overheating on track, and with the base cars bending wheels over potholes. maybe i'm wrong and someone can correct me on that since these articles are old ?

Whats the point here? (Not to sound aggressive or condescending)

BMW engines have had rod-bearing issues for years. The 4.4TT has shit valve seals, 335/535 HPFP issues, etc etc etc and BMW has done shit. Porsche's first GT4 had the front strut tower issues cracking and some cases being outright destroyed, they did nothing. Porsche had no choice as their GT3 crowd is a MUCH smaller bunch of people and is their "flagship" performance car. The Corvette is a 1/3 of that price at its highest point, previously. Not sure why a manufacturer should be held responsible if their street car overheats on a racetrack, despite me thinking why build a car of such capabilities ON the track if it can't maintain it.

Porsche never addressed strut tower failures, along multiple generations of GT3 and GT4. You are out of luck if this happens out of warranty.

Prime examples of that superior engineering. Name the Porsche.

As someone who’s e92 M3 engine blew twice in 60k miles from rod bearings, I find it laughable for people to dog GM about engine reliability. You have a warranty for a reason. This car shouldn’t even really need to be modded, but people will anyway.

This and comical on a BMW forum to try and say Porsche has bad build quality.

If you go to a racetrack around the country on any given weekend there is a reason why more than half the cars are typically 911's or Caymans......

I disagree. Porsche does NOT man up. I have had 4 911's since 2017 when I left BMW M. I spent over 560K with them in 4 years.

2017 911 S = flawless.
2019 911 GTS = flawless
2020 911 S = PDK failure within 2K miles. Buy back ONLY because there was no other PDK to swap into it at that time.
2020 911 S = PDK paddles didn't work driving it off the lot, park button flashed while moving, constant clicking noises. My issues were WELL documented on Rennlist.

Porsche did NOTHING for me on my 2nd buy back. They knew my 2nd one left the lot not shifting. They knew my parking light was flashing when driving. They knew my 2nd one left the lot making as clicking noise. They said the clicking noise I heard was a characteristic of the car. Yet my 1st 992 911 S didn't click. They knew all of this the second I left the lot with my 2nd one because I was still dealing with them on my 1st 992 911 S buy back. 4 separate dealers all agreed what I experienced was not normal or ok. Yet Porsche turned their back on THEM and ME. I will never buy another one again.

The dealer bought back my 2nd one only because of the market. They are just going to resell it and and let the new guy deal with warranty. Otherwise I would be stuck in my 2nd POS 2020 992 911 S. Porsche does NOT stand behind their product.

Porsche quality on the 992 SUCKS. And they know it and dont care.

You boasted how you have owned most every car out there. Yet you sure dont speak like you have any real Porsche experience.

What's popular on the track has nothing to do with overall daily driver quality. Furthermore, all track stars are well aware that they must PAY TO PLAY. Most of them are older cars out of warranty. Not all. But most. And even those who are tracking newer models. They all know if something breaks, chances are they will be on the line for the repair. Porsche is the best drivers car period to me. But they have tons of quality issues they DO NOT stand behind.
