NOT the Washington Capitals. So, that's one team out of the guessing game. LOL

I'm guessing COLO does NOT repeat.

Other than that, I don't have too much to add at this point. I haven't watched enough hockey so far this season to have a really informed opinion.

I had high hopes for the NYR after last year but jeez, losing at home to the Blackhawks who`d just lost 8-straight??????

Can`t even see us make the play-offs, never mind go deep into post-season.

Just take Toronto off the list.

They could win the rest of their games in the regular season and would still lose/choke in the 1st round.

1967 and counting

I'm a forever optimist, and they're even beating the crappy teams rn (2-0 vs Anaheim atm).

Last year should've been their year to go past R1 but the unlucky draw of the Lightning and some questionable calls.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP they destroyed them 7-0! Plan the parade, boys, this year's different!!!! Well, I'm betting at least R1 or R2 this time.

(Leafs, the Cowboys of hockey haha)

Jake Vrana just waived by Detroit.

I am surprised. He was traded from the Caps to Detroit for Mantha (who was theoretically Detroit's best player at the time). Went over and was putting up some good numbers initially before a big shoulder injury sidelined him for quite a while. Made a comeback and started putting up numbers again, but then went to NHL substance abuse program (speculation was addiction to pain pills, but no one knows for sure). Comes back from that, plays 3 games in the AHL (no goal on 9 shots), gets extended to AHL for 3 more games, but then hours later is waived.

There is more to this story than being told in the public. This guy had a great shot, great speed. Could change the momentum of a game with his skill level. All I'm hoping is that Jake can make a comeback and live a good life - I'm hoping he's not still in the throws of addiction. Best of luck Jake...

Yeah. Hope he finds a way out. It’s a hard spiral to break.

Better yet, who tanks the season the rest of the way to be able to draft a generational player - Connor Bedard?

Hasn’t been a 17 year old player dominate the world junior tournament like this since 1978…the Great One #99

Oh yes, and congratulations boys on winning back to back

He is definitely dominating, definitely skilled. The only thing I worry about is size. I feel like he needs another growth spurt or two, otherwise his ceiling is somewhere around Gudreau. Granted, that's not a bad thing, but it's also not Gretzky levels.

They've made the game very difficult to watch in the last couple of years. It's on maybe five different platforms now, and you have to go hunting for the game you're looking for across all of them. No wonder viewership is down!!!

Couldn't agree with this post more unfortunately. Choke in first round likely, if not choke in second round. Team just has no heart.

Can't believe Rob Blake traded "Felix the Cat" Quick away like that, Felix was going to retire a King.

Then, he called him on the phone??? SMH

REmember when we actually had Felix Potvin? Butterfly goalie or whatever. Anyways yeah it was a shock. We traded him to the Bluejackets and then he was traded to the Golden Knights the next day. We got a supposedly younger and better (at this pint) keeper Korpisalo and a gritty player. We'll see. Not handled very well though.
