I realise many of the forum admins and major contributors are US based, but it would be really great if we could get more info like this for my market. The BMW UK press site and BMW UK main site just don't seem to carry anything like this - we know they make these kinds of changes, its just pretty rare that you actually get to see what they are and when they take effect.

The net effect is that its difficult to accurately figure out what you're getting in terms of looking to buy either an approved used car or if you might be looking to order a new car. Obviously not a show stopper, but not ideal either.

I'd just like to point out that I read your entire post with an English accent. Thanks.

It has to do more with the chip shortage in the supply chain. Their longer term goal was always known a few years ago, but this chip shortage has hammered everyones production line and it'll be another 18 months until that is solved; unless another covid lockdown happens.

Removing the Sensatech dashboard has nothing to do with the chip shortage. I am fully aware of the scope of that problem, but removing options is also a way for them to cut 25% of costs per unit. I will be shocked if things come back as standard items, and not as a package.

Possibly, but the tech deletions are more of a cost reduction due to their price and availability. Be that as it may, I agree not to look for their re-inclusion anytime soon.

But removing options also cuts the amount they can charge per unit. Unless they keep the price the same (which they can in this environment). What we are seeing is flat pricing, but fewer standard options which is effectively a price increase.

Eventually we will revolt at the lack of luxury options vs. the cost of the vehicle. In which case reducing the cost per unit will have backfired tremendously.

So far they have given very small credits for items missing. I assume this will become much like charging for for the maintenance plans that were standard prior to 2018. Vehicle price didn't decrease, just coverage.

That is wrong. Mine is a 2022 LCI model. Picking it up tomorrow.

I believe you that the 22's are out, but it doesn't allow you to configure one on bmwusa.com. I try everyday and it still shows 21'.

I'm wondering the same. Any idea when 2022 can be built on bmwusa.com?

For the 2022 X3/X4 LCI, the Build & Price on the US & Canadian sites are for the 2021. Only the X2 has the 2022 models

I watched a video with the 22 X3 and they removed the back seat fold lever from the trunk. I wonder why?

I'm confused on the 3rd row seat option (4UB) for the X5. I put in an order for one and it is still an option along with the air suspension. The only thing I wasn't able to order was the wireless charging, wifi hotspot, and Harmon kardon.

The only other change is the comfort options. 4 zone climate control (4NB) is required with Executive Package, so I just went for the $1100 climate comfort package (ZRC) since I wanted heated seats anyways.

Some things I noticed that were off on the G30. Dark Graphite is still an option, at least for the M550i. I have on in transit right now.

Also, no mention was made to about the deletion of enhanced bluetooth. The two features that I was told from the get-go that were not going to be available were the hands-free trunk and the wireless charging.

I hope I'm not getting a surprise paint color when I go to pick it up. That would be grounds for me walking away as I was torn between another black sapphire or trying something new with the Dark Graphite. I'm pretty sure DGM is available, as per the online configurator on BMW USA.

I'm not certain what enhanced bluetooth is but it is still listed on my order sheet from my SA. If it affects using Android Auto or CarPlay wirelessly, I'll be bummed but I am OK still using a wire. In 2021.

4-SERIES
"Colors and Interior Trim
Brooklyn Grey Metallic and Aventurin Red Metallic have been added.
New Perforated Sensatec replaces Sensatec upholstery.
Tacora Red and Cognac
added to carryover Black and Canberra Beige Sensatec colors
Canberra Beige/Black and Cognac Vernasca leather colors have been removed."

I wish I DID NOT have wireless charging!! In my 750, I have no proper place to keep the phone and the damn charger only heats up (quite high temps) my iPhone.

I have resorted to keeping my spare masks on the charger and then keeping my iPhone on it to PREVENT wireless charging.

Maybe I will cut a black colored thick piece of plastic and affix it permanently...

BTW, the new 2022 Honda Civic has a 'switch' to on/off wireless charging... wish BMW had this feature!

Thanks. I meant why not have the switch on the already existing wireless charger. It would be convenient to switch the darn wireless charging off.
