A couple of years with Williams at the back and really not fighting with anybody. He needs to relearn how to race in close quarters with others without just hitting them out of his way I guess

Ferrari's frustrating mistakes in tactics and strategy is the same old story and is part of what made ALO decide to leave.

LeClerc is making one too many unforced errors just like Vettel in 2018 when they had a championship winning car. These are the kind of errors that someone like Ham, Max, or ALO do not make. The question is does LeClerck have it in him to win the WDC?

I've never liked Mercedes my entire life in any capacity. Their cars and owners, brand image, Lewis, Toto, and now Russell.

I agree. It is most unfortunate. Youth and exuberance are only tamed by experience. Losing the rear end on corner entry means a) he entered the corner too hot or b) his left foot came off the brakes too abruptly forcing a snap spin. Whatever the case I'm thinking the cognoscenti are greatly disappointed (again) and his girlfriend Charlotte too. She's on my thread somewhere (https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1929620). I fear Charlie might be getting a phone call from Maranello from a certain person named Benedetto Vigna...

In this interview he admits to making a mistake which shows some maturity and guts. He sounds frustrated and rightly so saying, "I lost the rear" and "it was a mistake". Owning the error is the first place to start for corrective action. I wouldn't be surprised if he "ramps it down a little" in the next few races in order to finish and avoid falling further down the driver points table. The first rule is: "In order to win one first has to finish"...

He did say his rear tyre went off the track a bit and dirt there could have put him in the spin but sure the pressure from Max made him go into the bend just too quick.

Charlie's tyres were gone by extreme degradation , because he was chased by MAX .
His tyres were completely cooked in the heat . That's why he lost so suddenly the rear .
This wasn't a drivers mistake ..Too bad for Charlie !

IMHO : The Ferrari strategy failed completely , they didn't called him in for new tyres .
Behind the pitwall they can monitor the tyre temps .But no , there was no call !

MAX is now leading with 63 WDC points . That's an advantage of 3 victories !

Today the Italian Ferrari clowns just gave it away with a WDC car...

Hard to solely blame him

He makes 3 mistakes in half a season, but it's difficult when your entire team that should be helping you are made up of clowns and you have to also do their work for them as you drive at the limit every corner

and you make 3 mistakes all year

Sainz was saying that they have more info in the pit on tyres than the drivers and looked puzzled, Chas should have been called in earlier like Max as being on full tanks wears the rubber quicker and in that heat delaminates them quicker.
