I’m 29, so idk if that is young or not. Sometimes things change and you can grow into liking somebody. I gave it some time because I’m not gonna completely dismiss somebody just because I’m not head over heels obsessed upon first meeting. I don’t believe in that fairy tale bullshit.

This! My current girlfriend is attractive, intelligent, loyal and all around a good person. Are there other qualities I would like for her to have? Yes; however, these other qualities also come at a cost that I am not willing to put up with. I'm not in love to the point where I feel like I need to be around her every minute of my day but I love and respect her for who she is. Could I find hotter? Maybe; but hotter would probably be less intelligent and likely to cheat. I'm happy with what I have because I used common sense versus letting my heart or dick think for me.

aozer It usually comes down to a balancing act. Do the positives outweigh the negatives by enough for you to consider investing your time.

i.e. My first wife left me. I was so worried I would be a crazy cat-guy, lonely and by myself. I wanted people around, family, etc. Even then my mom warned me "Be careful what you wish for"

Now with the second wife, she has 1/2 her siblings that live in the same town, then 3/4 of their kids live here too. I can barely take a shit without SOMEONE being around my house.

Wouldn't have it any other way. . .

I think she sounds like a great person and you gave it a good try but it's time to move on. Chemistry is very important and you shouldn't settle. I once dated a guy I met online, actually a cop and probably the best looking guy I met online, and he was a great guy. But we just lacked chemistry and eventually we just ended it nicely. No point dragging it on. I'm sure she will be heartbroken but just be really nice about it.

This is a good point, and it really depends on your reasoning for wanting to leave. If there is no chemistry that is one thing, and usually something that won't improve. If it's because you think you can find someone hotter/better, then well... take your chances I guess.

He hasn't even told us why he isn't feeling it nor do we know the whole relationship. He could be making a big mistake & that is what it sounds like to me.

Just b/c it's not tearing clothes off like wild animals daily or something does not = no chemistry. Like many other posters said, I'd be careful about tossing this one away if she is indeed as good as he says. He needs to sort out his head. He doesn't even know why. Sounds like another case of thinking with the penis and/or wanting nonsense till you get it then oops I should have stayed with the other girl!
