The Thing with Kurt Russell was an awesome movie.

Cape Fear was made in to an excellent remake. With Robert De Nero. He was creepy in that. Robert Mitchum played the creepy guy in the original, and he had a small part in the remake.

It was so good I thought our theatre had smell-o-vision when DeNiro was doing that jail workout scene, was thinking where the heck was that stench coming from??

Speaking of Mummy remakes, I liked the one with Tom Cruise, though I don't think it was received too well. I thought Sofia Boutella was convincing as the female mummy. Also liked Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.

Over 2 nights, I've gotten about 2/3 thru Ichi the Killer. I keep expecting it to do something other than bleed all over my screen. Probably finish it up tonight.

Was looking online at the Cape Fear remake and it not only had Robert Mitchum from the original, but it had Gregory Peck and Martin Balsam from the original as well.

Was old home week.

The Thing is probably the absolute standout.

I thought War of the Worlds with TC was a decent remake.

I was shocked by it. I love a bug movie but expected 70's dross and got a really, really, really good movie with a proper story and character development and even ok effects.

Still, Depp screwed up big time (did he ever remove that tat?). Winona is (still) a classic beauty.

Yeah, years ago I went with a friend of mine after she suggested it.

They were doing a horror weekend at the local independent cinema up in Tulsa. Was really cool to get to see it on the big screen, well not like IMAX, but still many times larger than at home.

The theater had to be a great way to see that. I can't remember if I first saw that in the theater or not. I looked it up and it was released the year my daughter was born.
