There's that newish indoor range by San Tan mall and they don't mind full-auto as long they get some trigger time as well + you don't have to use their ammo. Shooting in A/C this time of year is a bonus. |

Will try to goshooting tomorrow. Gonna go site in the red dot on the MP5, shoot a bit of the M16 and then work on shooting my defense weapons. Sadly I don't shoot enough and know I will not be very good with the handguns. I try to compensate for precision with volume. |

I managed to secure an upper but now it opens a new dilemma for me. The AR Maglock that I intend to use interferes with the upper so now I either have to go with the Juggernaut Lock and lose the bolt catch or go featureless.

The top of the AR Mag lock hits this part of the upper. When it does, it rotates the arm and causes the tongue that's supposed to slip between the upper and lower to hit the lower. Yeah I had the iking pin put on but I took it off. The mag release works when the upper is lifted away but when you shut the upper down, that part in red pushes the the top of the mag lock down.

I also stumbled across this. Looks promising. You basically lock the magazine to the receiver then reload it from the side.

This is gonna be a dedicated range plinker and I'm gonna throw on an LPVO for some long boi action. I have another AR with the regular maglock for other things. |

Good idea. On the handgun thing, a lot of it is practice for me. back about 20 years ago when I first got interested in shooting I would go to the range 3-4 times a week and practice with handguns. Got so I could hit the black on 3 inch across targets at 10 yards quickly and consistently from a draw. Now I'm lucky to hit the backstop.

Oh yeah absolutely. I would never use this build as a home defense gun it's more of a mess around with at the range and potentially dabble with long range stuff. I hear it gets taken away and you probably won't get it back and I spent too much on this one for that. I have an ugly POS with a working AR Mag lock for home defense. She's the sacrificial goat.
