Am I missing the exterior high gloss shadowline trim?
Picked up my AW 5dr M135i today and didn't notice until this evening that the outline around the front and rear windows is black rubber and not black plastic.
Is this a 3dr/5dr thing? Anyone else noticed? According to the BMW UK configurator "Exterior trim, High-gloss Shadowline" is a no cost standard option and cannot be deselected. It is also available on M Sport models. "High-gloss Shadowline includes front and rear side window trim, mirror base and mirror frame in High-gloss Black." On my old 1M and mates E92 M3, even on my old 330D M sport the surround was plastic and not rubber. Have the factory made a mistake? If I put my VIN into the build checkers out there I can see it on my car under standard options: S760A INDIVIDUAL HOCHGLANZ SHADOW LINE High gloss shadow line Cheers for your help. Mark. |

Window rubbers are still rubber. The high gloss bits are the upright panels on the B pillars and the separators between the rear windows and quarterlights. And the mirrors. See pics. Dead insects are not part of the pack.

Looks like it could be a 5 door thing. Only coupes and 3doors have the plastic and not the rubber. Shame.
Passed a white 3dr M Sport on the way home and even that had it. Checked some photos of the old 330D and they were rubber too. Guess its because the coupe and 3dr doors are frameless unlike the 5 doors. |

all normal. mine is the same.
I suppose the 3 door's front window is also covered with rubber and only the rear window is hard shiny plastic. |
