Absolutely dismal. Disproportional and FWD. It even LOOKS FWD like a Honda Fit!

This has the making of a Dr. Evil plot 'Our master plan is to encroach on the Honda Fit/Mazda3 segment, we could stand to make one... meellllllllion... dollars'
mwu ha ha..... On a side note, What if their next plan is to give up on taking the blame for cars that look like this and have a fully custom car creator. You log in or go to the dealer, plug in to a console and pick your own car: I want the front of a Honda Fit with the sides of a 1 series and the back of a Mazda3, exterior in poo brown and the interior in Sport red... Why is everyone laughing at me? I have a BMW badge on the front don't I? |

Besides, this is indented for people who like the brand, maybe they have an X or a 5 series as a start, and needs something for the wife, or as a city car? These potential buyers of these segment is not that hardcore RWD enthusiast, they do not take theyr cars to nurnburgring for instance. Hell 80% of the 1 series owners thought they allready had a FWD car. It is cheaper to manufactor, and it makes it more spaceious. Besides, who wants to lat all theyr eggs in one basket? Just look at Porsche, they have VAG diesel's in theyr cars these days...

Like I said some posts further down:
" I have a Cooper S myself and I sort of agree, except that the Mini is a very small car. To my opinion FWD shows it's limitation when it comes to larger sizes. Thats why I am sceptical. Hopefully BMW respect the heritage and continue to stand out when introducing new concepts." As long as the BMW brand is positioned above Mini, let Mini build the small quality FWD cars while BMW build the medium and large size quality RWD cars.
