@Bimmerboomer/XutvJet So what is your solution? Bearing in mind semi pistols have been around since 1911 and probably the majority of 100 million pistols (at least) are semi's. With a bit of training, with only 10 round mags you can get off 100 rounds in 100 seconds?

And then the antiquated Model 12 Shotgun holds 6 and can get off 6 rounds in 6 seconds. In 00 Buck thats about 50 pieces of lead. And then you can load one shell and fire in 3 seconds. Wghat are you gonna do about that?

And I didn't even talk about semi riffles. Even the ancient lowly .22 10/22 comes with varying size magazines. Semi auto produced for many decades.

And none of these firearms are an AR-15. You guys are talking baby talk to those of us that understand fireearms.

I routinely carry a Glock 42 (.380) with 6 round mags. You can easily put 20 of them in your pockets and put out 126 rounds in 2 minutes.

I don't expect solutions from either of you bc in this area you are children.

And turn down the rhetoric. You had me regarding your basic competence when you stated that you wouldn't plan to engage the shooter in a fire fight from any distance.

I don't have the answer: I was serious about wanting to know what the CDC has to say.

Go re-read my post You would only engage the shooter if you have a 100% chance of taking him out without hiting any people running behind or in front of him...period. As a civilian that is the book response.

Yea..I surmised that but even if true...an infantry officer would know about a postol and the equivalent of an M-16 but yea...

The rounds could easily penetrate and kill two or three people.

A. You don't fire if someone is in back of the shooter.

But what does it matter? I'm reminded of a conversation my wife, an RPN, had at the hospital where she worked (then Toronto General) with an RN some thirty years ago. The RNs were all talking about what their boyfriends or husbands did. Vicki was listening in, but as the lone RPN was respectfully quiet. Until one of the nurses suddenly asked her what her husband did. She answered that I was Vice President of a local retail chain. "I don't believe you!" retorted the RN.

But really the only sign was Sears Canada beginning to down-size. Anyway, I took a 50% pay cut to move to manufacturing in a sales job and two years later I was President of the Canadian company, within four years I was CEO of the parent company.
