The first one was moronic. I saw it one time in the theater when I was in college, haven't seen any of the sequels nor do I have any desire.

It is so unique to me and such a shit sandwich of a situation this young couple got put in.

All these horror films usually start with dumb decisions, let's go on this secret road off the highway or lets investigate the secret of XYZs death and end up their next victim, but this one?

Let's make a commitment and go house shopping and lose our lives window shopping houses.

There are unexplained things, like the guy who seemed to work as a handyman and used to manual labor gets killed by shoveling from sunup to sundown?

Also the girl I think she died from falling through the multiple layers of the same community?

Ultimately being put in the body bad suffocated her, but what took her from a healthy young adult to Padme levels of losing the will to live seemed like the falling through levels she went through. I guess only the aliens were able to survive that.

Yeah, it was a really wild movie. I didn't really understand what they were trying to say with it, but it was intriguing nonetheless.
