Ewg vs pwg in the market to buy.

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a m135i in the next little while. I have a question about the earlier models I read up to June/July 2013 have pwg. Onwards have ewg and also a larger exhaust housing or exhaust wheel? I'm going to do a few mods like downpipe and tune etc. is it worthwhile spending the extra $$$ on a newer model? If I'm removing the downpipe anyway? My thoughts on a tune are going to be mhd as it looks pretty simple and price per hp is good. May also upgrade the intercooler. Anything else I should budget in?

Let me know your thoughts.

No big differences between PWG and EWG turbos, not worth it. Tuning, I recommend:
MHD tuning (http://mhdtuning.com) Stage 2+ E98 flash
Catless or racecat DP
BIG intercooler
CP

PWG will always make less power then an EWG as the electronic waste gate can be electronically controlled to hold more boost higher up and the EWG turbo has a larger exhaust wheel hence why the EWG has a 4" DP

Its also a lot easier to maintain as you have no vacuum lines to worry about. (especially when you get a boost leak and have to start diagnosing where the leak could be coming from)

models after july 2013 with the EWG turbo also have launch control

Thanks guys. Yep going to try to get 2014+ model. But if an early 2013 comes up maybe it's lower price could be justification of a turbo upgrade. But I'd be happy with the Same mods and running a sub 4 0-100. I have missed having a rwd car and this has been on the radar for ages.

Hi Guys here are the picture of my car , that's EWG or PWG ? for me looks like EWG . my car was made in July 2013

What you guys think EWG or PWG?
