Intercooler and charge pipe recommendations

All,

What is everyones views on aftermarket intercoolers and charge pipes?

Assume there won't be much difference in the charge pipes, but which ones have people used?

Intercoolers could see some performance differences, what have been ppl's experiences? Any recommendations?

Help would be useful!

Intercooler work on keeping the IAT (intake Air temperature) low so car can still perform even after couple pulls.
Stock charge pipe are plastic and they are prone to failure. after you tune your car and increase boost, failure of the charge pipe becomes a matter of time.
For your car i recommend Evolution Racewerks charge pipe and intercooler.
Please let me know if you need more help.

If m235i racing has same IC as stock then begs the question if its worth upgrading IC.

+ 1 for ER chargepipe, had one on n54 car.

Notice any performance difference? Assuming not. I'm adding this is a cold air intake.

The chargepipe i replaced as a safety measure. The plastic stock ones can break.

I also have a bms intake. Its a hot intake system.

The intercooler is for consistency to keep iat under control.

All above wont add power by itself without a tune. Power gains when tuned are minimal as well. Maybe 10bhp from intake max. The fmic makes sure you dont loose power after a few pulls due to iat going up.

Just had a Wagner Competition Core intercooler installed. After the first long run of 230 miles today the throttle response was pleasingly spiky at the end rather than flat, so I'm happy enough. Whether it gives me any more power I don't think I care although I might put it on a rolling road if I'm curious enough.

As for a charge pipe I'm holding out on that one as my car's more for the road so I'd rather not risk an emissions check failure just yet, and I don't think I drive hard enough to over-stress the standard pipe.

You mix chargepipe with downpipe? Chargepipe doesnt change any emission stuff. Thats the downpipe!
