Aftermarket Brake Pads 116i
Does anybody know about any front pads which are available to replace the originals on the 116i?
The originals are soooo KAK and overpriced that it's just not funny anymore. |

You don't like them? I am actually quite impressed by the brake pads on our 116i. They have survived several track weekends, they never fade, never go soft, never squeak, and the brake dust seems to be quite easy to remove. Haven't checked the price, though.

They squeal, they give out other funny scaping noises, give them a few brakings from about 200 km/h and they almost don't exist.
Price at the agents is approx. 200-210 USD and in addition to that you have to change the wear indicator cable and thats another 30 USD or so.... At 55000 km second set is almost finished..... And that is on both 116's that I have. No, I don't like them. |

I havent tried 200 km/h so much, but they certainly stop the car very confidently lap after lap from 170. And mine do not make any strange noises. I guess you only need to replace the sensor cable if the brake wear alarm has been activated?
I am used to brake pads lasting less than 10000 km, and on the 116i they seem to last longer than 20000, so I am happy about that. |

Want to buy my M-sport brakes ?
(pads + calipers + rotors) You need at least size 17" wheels. They are unused. I replaced them from the start with the 18" M Performance brakes. |
