Hi everyone,
I have a BMW 118 with a 1.5L 3-cylinder engine, and I'm experiencing some troubling issues. I'm having to add nearly a kilogram of oil every 600-700 km. Additionally, I occasionally see white smoke coming from the exhaust upon starting the engine, regardless of whether it's hot or cold. This doesn’t happen consistently, and it's only at startup, not while driving.
I've noticed that the oil level can appear fine over 400-500 km, then suddenly drop after a short drive. The oil return has been replaced, and I discovered that the turbo was leaking some oil; however, it has since been repaired and is no longer leaking, yet the problem persists. The garage conducted a reverse pressure test, which they said was normal.
Also, the spark plugs appear dirty and slightly carbon-fouled when I removed them.
Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing these issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
