First BMW
Hello everyone, im trading my peugeot 308 T9 for a BMW 1 series. It’s a black 2017 116d, advantage trim with leather seats. I took the car to my mechanic and he ran diagnostics, visually checked engine and everything seemed fine except for a pulley for the acessory belt and the seller replaced both(pulley and belt), also a tire sensor was broken and they got a new one.
Tomorrow Im going to check the car again, it went to the shop to paint the front bumper and polish the car. Anything else i should lookout for? My first BMW, im both excited and scared, im trading because peugeot even with 80k km, is allways in the shop for something wrong, spent more money on repairs in 3years ownership than 9 years with my civic. |

Hello. Wise choice if you are a keen driver!
Sport seats are much more comfortable than the regular ones. I appreciate the whole seat (not just the backrest) tilting in particular, but enhanced side support is nice too (unless you are too big to fit). Notice that the regular suspension is considered off the BMW driving standards, too soft compared to the previous 1 Series generation (unless you are rather after comfort than driving dynamics). Hello and thanks for the reply.
The car is fully stock, no retrofits and no tunes. The service history in bmw is up to 70k km, the car is now 100k, the engine filters, brake pads and disks were not bmw but good quality according to mechanic and a good sign because it shows the car was being serviced. The interior does not show big signs of wear, except some in the shift knob, the rest is in great shape, I could swear the back seats were never used. The car will be our commuter/family car, about 10/15km a day to work and school for our child and on the weekends up to 50km a day. I’ve been all over forums and online reviews, the car seems pretty reliable, well built and that’s our main objective. The Peugeot was bought cpo with 50k km and has been a headache and money pit. Adblue problems (very expensive ones), clutch, clutch pedal, gearbox, fuel reservoir, back axle (factory defect but not assumed by Peugeot) and all kinds of strange noises from cabin and engine.. At the moment she refuses to drive it and I’m always thinking what’s next.. Between 1 series, class A, A3 and within our budget this was our favorite. |
