2012 BMW 1 Series F20 Misfire between 1-2k revs
Hi,
My first post as I'm looking for some advice on the issue below! The car had been mis-firing due to error codes 272F00 & 272E00 which is an faulty EGR valve. Along with this, an intermittent Drive train error pop up on the screen. I then have the EGR valve replaced with a genuine Bosch one. The mechanic reassured me it's original and will be fine.. (I'm not massively mechanically minded). It's been about 2 weeks and I start to feel a slight misfire at low revs, but nothing too alarming. Assuming it wouldn't be the EGR valve... As it's just been replaced. Maybe dodgy fuel or something along those lines. I then plug the Topdon in but there's no error codes whatsoever. Another week or so goes by and the misfire (between 1-2k revs) is more noticeable. I then plug the Topdon in again and finally get the error code of 255B00 - 'Exhaust gas recirculation actuator, position control valve too far closed/positive control deviation'. & Status as 'Intermittent'. It's also worth mentioning I do not get any error message on the IDrive. But again, referring back to a faulty EGR valve. I've contacted the mechanic in the meantime and has said that it could be something else causing the issue, but causing a 'phantom message'. How common is that? Either way, didn't seem overly keen to assist.. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks |
