Touchscreen not working.
5 Months ago I bought a screen for my 2012 1 Series 118d. I wanted to Upgrade from OEM screen, since the original is small in comparison to the one I bought (10.25’), plus I wanted it to have CarPlay.
I had it installed, it was coded relatively good, but there is one problem that keeps getting me annoyed. The touchscreen display won’t turn on, but iDrive would work perfectly fine (Radio, Bluetooth, etc.). This happens in two different occasions: 1. When the interior temperature is high, or direct sunlight hits behind the screen. I cannot really tell. I guess it’s because of the interior temperature. It might be affecting the screen display components (plus, my car is black, that explains the elevated temperature inside the car). 2. When I turn off the car and I start it up immediately, the touchscreen won’t start. But yet, iDrive would still work as it should. Any useful advice would be appreciated. At this point I don’t know what to do. |
