Smile The Indoor Houseplants Thread

As many of you know, I truly enjoy working in my Garden and keeping our Landscaping nice and colorful. Especially in the Spring and Summer.
However, equally as important, are my indoor plants. I generally have @ 4 - 5 throughout our house. I generally rotate some out every couple of years.
I enjoy hand selecting my plants and then potting them in decorative vases.
Last night, I planted this Dracaena & Bromeliad for our home office. And a Aglaonema for the Family Room🌴.
I adore plants & flowers. They're not only beautiful but also healthy and therapeutic for me.
I'm sure I'm not alone... 🙂

I don't know names well enough, other than plant.

People give me a hard time at work, because I have plants on desk/windowsill. The succulents are doing quite well in the window, having started mainly as just a cut off something from the house. I need to repot one, the soil just isn't right and the water leaks out way too fast, then turns extremely dry again by the next day. Plus those 2 plants have grown up quite a bit and probably are root bound now.

Why would they give you a hard time? I always think favorably even I see people with plants. It demonstrates 'life, nurturing and peace' to me.
8ndoor plants can be tricky. The most common cause of issues, is overwatering. But under can be problematic too. Transferring pots isn't usually an issue. There is a great product I keep on hand from Miracle Gro: Quick Start. It's a root stimulator.

People don't realize I have fresher air than they in my office. . .

I have a root starter that I use in Spring if I'm doing 4" pots into the ground. Fill up a 5gal bucket of mixture, drop all the pots into as I'm doing the transplanting into the garden. Scoop out a bit into their new home.

Guess that depends on your state. I can grow 12 on property , but that's not my thing.

Limit in Cali is 6 plants. You’re shorting yourself.

Ok guys... Way off topic. Back to those of us with true House plants used for decorative purposes only. 🙂

Thanks. I was hoping we had more here who have decorative house plants.
But hey, you never know who I might inspire.

Our vet sent this to us when our dog passed in 2017. My wife has done a great job keeping it maintained since then.

Meet ‘snaky.’

This is my snake plant. Sansevieria trifasciata var. laurentii. It’s also known as mother-in-law's tongue or variegated snake plant.

Low maintenance. You can get away without watering it for weeks. Works for me because when I am away it’s not so easy.

I have been researching air purifying plants for a while so consider me subscribed.

I have a snake plant (who I named Snake Plant) and a Prayer plant - whose leaves fold up at night as if praying. Hard to upkeep on that one.

I've actually considered a snake plant myself. Nice.
