I'm not sure if I got a good deal or not. The dealer looked like I had robbed him, but I think that's just theatre. I ended up paying $55,000 drive away for one with metallic paint (mineral white), M Sports pack and sunroof.

Anyway, I can't wait till I hit the roads. I enjoyed playing with the GTI (a few mods) and will likely do the same when the Beemer comes off warranty.
Hi Balatabert,

If you look back earlier in this thread myself and Blue 335i list the deals we got and I would say your deal is about spot on to what we both managed. So I think the robbed look is definitely a bit of theater.

And now we play the waiting game.

Hi, I didn't get any fleet discounts but was told (after I bought he car) that there is no stamp duty for the 125i in Canberra (first owner only and when bought new) because of the very low emissions. That's a handy saving the dealer makes!

That is very interesting. I just had a look at the stamp duty rules here http://www.rego.act.gov.au/registrat...eenvehschm.htm and it seems a manual 125i scores 15 on the rating system so would need to pay stamp duty but the Auto raises the score to 16 and make it totally exempt.

Also funnily enough the 118d scores 14.5 so would need to pay stamp duty.

I know, I couldn't believe it either when they told me. We were set to get the 118i auto but when told that the 125 auto was stamp duty exempt, it wasn't a difficult choice to make

Might want to check spec with dealer - you can't order M-Sport in Mineral White, I got fed the same lie

Thanks Spec. I'll call them in the morning to confirm. If not mineral white, maybe I'll go EB (although they seem pretty common) or even even sparkling bronze. This might not be the right area to ask this, but has anyone seen a bronze one in the flesh? Does it look ok?

F20 Discounts post Price Decrease

Hi all, have decided to bite the bullet and order an M135i. Will be going to the dealerships to order in the next couple of days. I will probably order a stock standard one, now with the additional goodies. THe BMW website prices a no-option car at approxiumately $71,500 on road, Anyone order one in the past few days, post the price reduction? What sort of discounts are dealers giving off this new price (post July build)? Thanks for your help.

Depends on the dealer......you need to shop around. I just purchased an M3 last week and in my eyes picked up a bargain.

Hey all. Thanks for your feedback.

So on bmw.com.au, the RRP for an m135i is now $63,659 exclusive of on roads. this is more than $1k less than the recently published new price of $64,900?

Does anyone know which is the correct price as a starting point for negotiation??

Cheers

Thought I'd put the speculation to rest.
Through my broker I can get you drive away, no options $66,500 brand new July build onwards m135i.
Might be a slight variation with state to state stamp duty & rego costs.

hi guys, first time poster. been interested in the m135i for a bit now. not sure if i can afford it yet or need to get the 125i.

according to the bmw website the difference in price is about 20k retail pricing, and the difference in features are dakota leather, pro nav(vs business), xenons, interior lighting, idrive touch, and obviously the engine differences.

thanks siin for posting up what prices your broker can achieve. i am located in SA, and will probs think about this when comes to negotiation. a price of 66500 almost brings the price to that of an a250 which is excellent.

Siin, if that's the case I'd even be slightly better off giving up my deposit and going with your broker!

Pardon my ignorance, how does a broker work in these circumstances?

Cheers,

Ed

I just bought one 125i as well. The car was build in June and will arrive Australia in Aug. I paid $55,000 drive away. Got M Sport and Nav. I think you got a better deal as its a post July model with the launch control.

Hi Ed,

The broker arranges the car, pricing, delivery etc. The only exception would be a trade; that would usually need to be worked out separately given its largely subjective to what car you have & what condition its in... you will always get a better price as a private sale.
If you're ordering new & have a little time up your sleeves, i generally suggest to take it to a couple of yard to get a trade in price so you know the 'bottom line' - from here even if you get a few hundred more you're still better off, then couple in sharp pricing on the new car without having to rob Peter to pay Paul.
In the month or two leading up to delivery of new car, i would start advertising the new car privately for sale & work hard to get the best price...

You are welcome to sort your own finance out, use the dealer finance or I can also give a quote in need [im a finance broker so worst case is i can let you know if they're telling you the truth or not!]

Thanks Siin for this very useful information - its great to draw a line in the sand! That's really cheap for a car as good as the M135i... I really can't see any worthy competitors to the M135i at this pricepoint in Australia. Can't believe dealers still negotiating 6k (or just under 10%) even after the pricedrop. Food for thought ... cheers.

No I wasn't... The engine and the extra options would have worth much more then the 14k. Yes it is a lot of money but you can easily spec up a 125i to be around $66k mark...
