Gran Turismo 7 on PS5
Anyone using a rig on GT7 on PS5?
Been having a lot of fun competing in the Manufacturer's Cup every few days. Pretty cool that you get ranked against your state and county. Trying to decide on a wheel and pedal set to use with my PS5. Leaning towards the newer Logitech G923. I see the Thrustmaster T248 is also well ranked and similarly priced. Anyone have any input? |

I have a Fanatec DD Pro on PS5 for GT7 and it’s excellent- I would strongly suggest considering it as it is light years ahead of the Logitech & thrustmaster wheels. It’s a direct drive motor which is silent and smooth as opposed to clunky plastic gears. It does cost a good amount, $200 more I think? but it’s a far better experience and it’s upgradable and expandable if you find yourself getting into it more and if not, well it will retain 90%+ of its value if you want to sell it. The DD Pro has the DNA from a $2000 professional sim unit and all the high-end accessories are compatible.
No comparison to the thrustmaster or logitech can be made, it’s like comparing a plastic spork to a Japanese sushi knife - it’s that significant a difference. |

I’ve been playing this game with a Logitech G923 with the GT Omega Classic wheel stand and a spare passenger seat from my e90. So far it’s been great, I know the G923 is a very entry level wheel but I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m currently waiting for the rear seat frame from GT Omega, when I receive it I’ll run a seat on it as a full rig.

Fanatec if you can. have the CSL elite kit and the DD Pro. had several Logitechs. I would never go back to Logitech. FFB is so good, you can almost feel the ass of the car move. They are worth the money imo.

Fanatec DD Pro is the benchmark but I'm using an old Logitech G27 with an adapter.
Mirroring what everyone has said, yes, rigs are best, and if you are looking to invest in either Logitech or Thrustmaster, get a Thrustmaster, the gears on the Logitech are noisy and slips. Enjoy!

Fanatec DD1 with F1 wheel set with V3 pedals.
It's about the best set up you can get for PS5. Love it and wished I had more time to play. |

Fanatec gear is the way to go. I'm probably going to spring for the DD Pro wheelbase when it's back in stock to use it on GT7 and iRacing. I dislike GT7 on a pad, which is weird since I was in the esports scene for Forza 6 and 7, which is all on pad.

Recently sold my PS4 and G29 wheel, would love to get a PS5 and GT7 but refuse to overpay for the console... any tips on where to get a PS5 right now?

Fanatec DDpro. It's REALLY good. I have a pretty simple setup for the time being, but the DDpro really makes it what it is.

They are not that hard to get at retail price if you really want to get, just need to pay attention to stock and be ready to act. If you are waiting for 100 to be sitting on the shelves for you that may take 2 years.

I haven't played these games in years. How much total would PS5 + Forza + steering wheels/seat setup cost?
I feel like hitting backroads in my own car is more thrilling than any video game I ever played, but I haven't played this stuff since the days of PS3 with a controller. Driving b roads in real life comes with its own risks and financial liabilities (gas, wear & tear on the car, potential for a ticket, etc.).

PS5 got no Forza so not even with a million bucks
re the wheel, you can get one between 50 bucks - 10 grand, and a full simulator between 10 grand and 1 million (but PC only) |

I went straight for a Fanatec DD Pro, load cell brake, shifter, a diy wooden rig and a VW GTI seat. Never tried a logitech or thrustmaster based on the reviews for the DD Pro.

does anyone know if the DD pro is better with assetto or GT7 ? like do you have to mess with a bunch of settings to get it to work right with AC. I know on games like forza people need to manually adjust settings for each car to make it feel right. While GT7 you just plug it into the ps5 and you're done.
PS5 seems impossible to get and i could just build a new pc right now.

they are so very very different Humdizzle. GT7 force feedback is quite muted and flat and when tires loose traction it feels like clipping (zero feedback, just flat resistance) while AC/CZ is 10x more powerful feedback with significantly more detail, actually a bit too strong in default mode on the PS5. neither game do you need to mess with settings like you do on a PC, it's more a single in-game settings on amount of feedback.
now you can still go into the unit via the wheels mode settings and tweak the fine Fanatec adjustments but you don't have to. I set it once to a common generic setup and forget it no matter what game I'm playing, I'd rather keep it simple then mess with those. then do any adjustments right in the game. |

Just recently picked up the Fanatec H shifter. While it works great for the most part, I noticed some of the cars in GT7, especially the newer cars, don't require you to press the clutch to shift gears. It seems the only way to force it to require clutch usage is if you pay for the fully customizable manual transmission in the GT tuning shop.
Also some of the clutch behavior seems odd. I think I was driving a 2013 Viper and simply easing off the clutch I could get the RPMs all the way to redline. Anyone else experience similar issues?

got my ps5 and gt omega cockpit over the weekend. still waiting on the fanatec wheel to restock. (dd pro, csl pedal, shifter)
in the meantime i got gt7 fired up on the controller. halfway through golding the license tests and circuit experience stuff. saved up about a million. trying to get that gold lap on maggiore with the alfa 4c racecar is tough! same with the e30 m3 rain license test, it feels like you're on ice with those comfort softs. the physics of the racecars are definitely good. better than forza for sure. the braking feels a bit dead tho, you don't get much force feedback telling you how much grip you have. i'll probably turn off ABS today and give that a try. curious to see how much faster i'll be with a wheel. overall i'm pleased with the game so far.
