Is my car tuned? 118D true to power?

Hi everyone,

It's my first post on the forum. I've tried to find another post that answers my question but I'm not able to find anything.

I have a 2016 LCI 118D that I believe might be tuned. When I'm using the "Sport Display" in my iDrive it indicates 160hp and 400NM in torque. The indicators doesn't go further then that.
Standard it should be producing 150hp and 350NM. Why I'm asking the question is because BMW are known to produce more power then they claim, is that the same for the diesels? For you that drives a 118D, what does your "Sport Display" say? Is this normal or has the previous owner tuned the car?

Thanks for your replies

I can't answer you directly, but I do know that diesel remaps and tuning boxes give at least 20% more power and torque.

So you'd expect 180bhp and 420nm minimum.

I don't think yours has been remapped because there would be no point just giving an extra 10bhp.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

It would be interesting to see if someone with a standard 118d could check their performance meter and see where it reaches. I know these things aren’t supposed to be an exact measurement of the torque and hp but it would be interesting to see.

Mine bottoms out at 400 Nm and 160 hp but I have to floor it.
How are your cars? 😊

Bump.

For you that has a 118d with the b47 engine. Does your performance meter also bottom out? At what numbers?

Thanks!
