Wooden trim in M Sport

As far as I have seen, I think I am the only one that have chosen wooden trim in an F20 M Sport on the forum (actually it was my wife that wanted this option). We are quite happy with it, and think it goes well with the orange exteriour. So here is how it looks (The flash makes it look dustier than it is):

Like Wood Trim

I think it looks very good, i am a great fan of the newer range of BMW wood veeners, esp unlacquered fineline that I have sen on the F01 and my F07. This one is pretty good.

My F20 is coming with Piano Black gloss which also looks very good.

After 2 M-Sports, now not very excited by the brushed aluminium, certainly not the hexagon aluminium trim. But to each their own.

I did look at the wood veneers...in fact we ordered one initially. Then we realised that the aluminium (aluminum) hex was special to the M-Sport, and I really liked it too, so I went for that instead.

I like the wooden trim, but I think it would probably looks best with black or oyster leather.

Doesn't the blue stitching in the M sport alcantara mismatch with the wood?

Blue is the complementary color to brown/orange, so I think it fits fine. The blue seems are also very discrete, so there is not much blueness inside the interior. A bit too much greyness for my taste, though. Tan leather seats would look great with the wooden trim, but I prefer the comfort and friction of Alcantara.

Look at it this way, you have chosen one of the easiest option to replace in the car.

The inserts are easily to replace, so when you get sick of the wood look, you simply replace them with whatever you like.

My preference would be the M Perfomance Alcantara/Carbon fibre which will really suit that interior with the Val orange exterior.

I've gone for the Streamline wood in my 125d M Sport but haven't got the car yet, nice to see it looks good!

For a few minutes I considered it, but I'm not a fan of wood in the car. Maybe I'm not yet old enough or whatever.. . It looks good, no doubt, but somehow I don't want it. Also I dislike the combinations possible, as you have to get the silver accent parts for that. If I had the option wood + glossy black, I might have considered it more seriously.

The only right place for wood is the forest next door.

I think it's a bit special.. especially with the sport package and I agree with hsb! An interior with wood only in combination with Dakota Oyster... and perhaps only in a F10 or F01.

Anyways...it's an exotic and nice customizing, ovekvam!

Don't be afraid to state that you DON'T like it! :-)
I know some people are offended when others don't like the look of their car, but I'm old enough to feel secure about my own choices, even if they deviate from the common path.

No really, I do like it. If its made good it looks really nice and can deliver a certain quality/luxury feeling, but I don't want it in my car. Might change with the years.. 2yrs back I didn't want an automatic .

I don't think I will ever be old enough to want an automatic! :-)

If ~40% of your driving is citytraffic, that might change fast.

I give you compliments for the exterior choice, but I don't think wood suits a sporty compact car. It's not ugly, but it just doesn't fit the type of car. In a classic luxury car like Jag or a Mercedes S it would be different. I might have considered it in a 7 series, but even there I probably would have chosen alu or carbon.
The standard M interior is great as it is!

If I had to do a lot of city driving, I think my vehicle of choice would be an electric bicycle.

I like to see an electric bicycle with wood trim.

The ultimate in Green luxury (sustainable wood of course)

Yes, I am joking

I'm not sure if this is a healthy business idea, but let's hope they can bring the wooden bike beyond the present stage: "......currently just a design idea....."

Made me smile though!
