Smile Holiday & Christmas Lights 2023

YES!!! It is that time once again.

I just finished up today with us having absolutely gorgeous weather and temps in the mid-70s. Rain and cooler weather coming this week.

Crappy, zoomed-in cell phone pic, but you can see in the window, the Leg Lamp is back. Must be that time of year.

Geez the two of you....be honest now, you probably removed the lawn ornaments last year but left the lights strung so all you did was plug them in this year and throw the ornaments back out there right???

I categorically refuse to get up on the ladder, potentially make myself into a quadriplegic when I ultimately fall off said ladder, all to just hang some lights up.

So my long suffering wife settles with hanging lights in the kids windows and putting out decorations outside instead. Plus of course the requisite interior decorations. Which few people other than family see because we're introverts.

Hahaha!

Well in my case, I won't climb up on any roof this slanted and tall. I hire someone for that part and handle the rest. I'm actually afraid of heights.

Well, I really went overboard this year.

(JK, these pictures are from the Winter Lights display at the North Carolina Arboretum, which we checked out earlier tonight.)

The McMansion neighborhood near us has a cul-de-sac where there is a definite Battle Royale of Christmas lights going on. This guy almost always takes the prize. This is half his yard and this pic doesn't do justice to the immense amount of lighting he puts up. Must be near $20k's worth. I thought with the moon in the shot tonight it looked more special than normal.

just finished putting up the Christmas lights! I ended up upgrading the incandescent icicle lights i normally used to LED because so many of the bulbs were out. Kinda cool since it's all done with a remote so i can change the mode. can't post videos of them so i'll just post pictures instead

OK, so this is a friend of a friend's house here in CO - in fact I believe his house will be featured on ABC news in the coming days.

It's located in Highlands Ranch, CO and he does this every year.

Jesus!

What's that thing look like during the day? Curious how the vertical walls have such a pattern.
