Nah...I've never seen them live. I'd love to someday, though!

Hey, I just downloaded the "suffer well" video...your second link. Was that the video? I was hoping they were going to show more of it, but from that particular link you only saw it at the end. And I'm most disspointed that DEPECHE MODE didn't have an E90 with LOGIC 7 sound! lol I could tell because the tweeter was missing on that colum by the mirror

Anyway, ahh man I can't think of a better band to have an E90 in one of their videos! I haven't really heard a lot of their newer stuff...in fact this is the first time I ever heard this song. I haven't heard any new stuff from their angel album, but I'm so glad they stay true to their old 80s new wave/alternative roots from some of their older material: violator, etc.

you have almost all their video in the same section from 1980 to 2006

If you like this group I strongly recommand you to buy their last album "playing the angel" which is amazing!

Check the "Precious" Video

I just downloaded it now. Geez...I'll tell you this is a band that doesn't dissapoint! I'm not going to say this song sounds like enjoy the silence, but definitely sets the same mood...I like it!

I don't know, any band that still uses keyboards and moog synths is awesome in my book!

DM is my favorite band of all time. Nice to know other moders on here. i used to literally be obsessed with them. I had the big supersize poster of Andy, Martin, Dave and Fletch (from Pasadena Rose Bowl concert 84 i believe... (i was a very young kid at the time) in my dorm room, and my roomates thought that I was David Gahan).... That was so cool....

ne ways, their recent stuff has turned me off (exciter). I hope their new stuff is more like the olden days. I like the older, 80's black stuff the best......

edit: OMG. i just listed to suffer well, i love it. Thank God i hope they are back from their poppish, alternative rock phase..... back to darker, industrial type... I'm going to buy this cd. I usually download, i won't lie, but i gotta support dm.

You have to watch it carefully to discover it's a E90. For normal(not E90/carcrazy)people it's not quite obvious imo.

I "just can t get enough" of being "behind the wheel" of my e90

indeed Exciter was more a transitionnal album

my favourites DM albums

Playing the angel 2005
Ultra 1997
Violator 1990
Music for the masses 1987
Some great rewards 1984

PS I like everything they did (11 studio albums) but those 5 are amazing

that may have been a fact i used to know... but it's interesting about how 'weak' DM was in the beginning if Vince was the lead vocalist of the group... when Vince formed yazoo and later erasure, i don't think in either instance he tried to be the lead vocal.

yes Dave Gahan has a stronger and deeper voice....I like Martin Gore`s voice too

Vince Clark was the writer/compositor for their first album Speak and spell
He left the group before their big success because dave, martin and Andrew Fletcher didn t want to continue in that way......songs vince wrote didn t have the special "depeche mode" feeling that we all love

Later Alain Wilder joined them for their 3rd album I think (Construction time again 1983) He was a great musician and did a very good job on their 4th album Some great rewards 1984 which was the album that made them so famous (at least in Europe)

Alan wilder left the band after songs of faith and devotion tour 1993-1994

Wilder WAS THE SOUND of Mode as they started to reach their popularity during the 80's. Gore is still the soul of Mode because he's credited with writing the majority of their songs (although Gahan's writing credits are increasing with every album ever since his solo debut).

I love Mode. Songs of Faith and Devotion is my favorite album because it's soo dark; that's when there was tremendous turmoil with the band but sonically to me it's freaking amazing how Wilder just mixed the sounds and textures.

I like the new stuff but admittedly a part of the Mode sound that I love left when Wilder left the group and started Recoil. I want them to get back together again.

Gahan's voice is absolutely awesome though. He was on fire when I saw him promoting his solo album. The BEST I'd ever heard him. Gore was there to lend his support. Met Gahan for the 1st time that night too. Man what an amazing experience. Will remember that day forever man. Long live Mode!
