F20 newbie questions

Hi gents,

I have recently bought a F20 116i sport-line 2014 18000km and I have a few questions I would like you to answer please.

1) The car has strange tires not listed in the technical sheet or tire pressure sheet. The tires are Continental WinterContact TS 850 P RFT 225/55 R16 95H. Could you please suggest me the right pressure for them? Empty weight=1395kg., fully loaded 1885kg.

2) I am very disappointed by the fuel consumption. I was told the car is a small economical hatchback however the fuel consumption is about 9-10l/100km in comfort mode and driving really economical - 4-5 stars in EfficientDynamics analysis. In eco mode i have 8.4l/100km lovest. I drive about 2km urban, 8km extra urban and 2km urban again. That is a bit far from the value from technical sheet (5.6l/100km combined). Outside temperature is about 0 or a few deg. below. Tire pressure is 2.1 front and 2.3 back. Is it ok or should i check something?

3) When i shut the engine off by the start button, the radio wont switch off till i push the start button again. Is there a way to make the car shut down completely?

Thank you for your answers.

Cheers.

Martin

When the engine is cold shift at lower RPM.
Like 2500. Until the water reaches the optimum temperature.
What's wrong with the tires?

I would run 2.5 bar front and rear.

Our 116i with manual gearbox could do 5.0 L/100 km on country roads on long trips, but also up to 20 L/100 at track days. Urban driving and shorts trips will make the car thirsty.

Try to take your feet off the pedals, and click the start button again to switch off the ignition. If not, the radio will stop when you go out and lock the car, or if you wait a few minutes.

Not really, the N13 seems to be a very solid engine. It might rattle a bit at idle, but that's nothing to worry about as far as I know.

Regarding question 3 - it is possible to code the car to switch off the radio when you open the driver's door, so you don't have to push the ignition button twice. I used the Bimmercode app on iOS with a vGate wifi dongle to do this, but you could use ESYS.

Coding Auto headlights using Bimmercode

Hi, ive had my F20 2 years now and have used bimmercode before, done a couple off things including cornering lights which never worked when i coded it, turned out the car has to have headlights set to automatic, my car doesn't have automatic headlights but i done the modification to the light switch to allow this. the cornering lights are now working and i have ordered the sensor to code for the automatic lights and wipers, what i want to know is am i able to code the new sensor to the car using Bimmer code. And also if i can code fog lights to come on with full beam. Thanks

Fog lights and full beam? Why would you want that? I would assume that you want to see far ahead with full beam, and in that case, you want less light right in front of the car.
