South Africa has a population of 50 million, and we only buy +-2500 new BMWs every month. Size doesn't always matter, does it? (For the record and purposes of staying on topic, I'd buy an M135i in a heartbeat if I could realistically afford it). |

not offensive at all, natural actually.. i acknowledge the 1m is about 75% different than a 135i, whereas the M135 is prob only 35% different than a 135i, but similarities remain. Ppl are going to stick to the engine output, which is very similar b/t the 1M and the M135i as their basis for saying they're similar.

I very much doubt this is the final design. Just too simple to combine the greenhouse of the E82 with the front and lower body of the F21....
Not much designwork done, and IMO not worthy a new model name (2-series).

The basics remain the same. ie the typical classic BMW 2dr outline as does the bloodline from the F20 remain. The details will change though to define the car as the 2er.

More than anything the front defines a model series visually. So at least the front will come out different.

Some real info about the philosophy and positioning of the M135i:
http://www.bmwblog.com/2012/05/13/bm...oject-manager/ (it's a car for the road, inbetween the ///M models (all go) and the M-sport (all show) |

I only ordered this week. My dealer is looking at it as they expected September based on their allocation.

"Welcome to Munich to the test drive of the new bmw in the 3 door version.
Here you have the newest model in sportive version, the M135i, with double exhaust, 18" wheels, Michelin pilot sport tires, blue specific brakes and a new modified front which allows better breathing for the 6 cilinder engine. [black] Lets find out how it manages with the sport mode....Uahuahauuuuuu Nice it works good! 140 already! Breakes, chassis and front axle have been modified, also the gearbox. You have also the option of using de wheel pads for better controlling. For me it's nicer than the older 1M, even if this is not the real M. It really has lots of power even though. Confort isn't that bad, and direction is really well calculated, it has a good feeling. [black] Direction autobahn, to check how it manages with no speed limits." It isn't the best translation, but this is what he says |
