Max won this one on tyre management.
The first 10 laps HAM could follow, but the next 9 laps Max just drove away.
Still, HAM does a good job for the WDC (or Checo does a bad job)

I think PIA was a disappointment. He cooked his tyres.

They can take each other out ! That would make it easier for MAX

Honestly , let's hope for clean fights in the front .
MAX and the RB19 can manage the tyres extremely well in the COTA heat .

Inevitably with this sport, there have been countless saves by numerous drivers. Drivers got tons of experience to handle this kind of situations.

On the other hand :
You describe the spin & save situation as an easy reponse and like a straight forward action-reaction from MAX .
But actually it really Isn't it , when the drivers push it in QF beyond the limits it always comes in a highly unexpected moment and out of nowhere ..
Once you're gone ...It's like driving on ice !
I'm pretty sure , 90 % of the drivers would kiss the wall in such a situation .
But , as we know, for most F1 drivers the wall is always too close...

Of course handling any such critical/adverse situation ain't no easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. It never was, is or will be.

I just say that F1 drivers got tons of experience and training under their belts on how to handle their cars - it's their job and their passion. As the physical integrity of F1 pilots matters most and as F1 cars are bloody expensive tools with lots of money and business interests at stake, drivers are well-prepared to handle all sorts of race situations through countless hours of training in simulators and on track.

Boring sprint race. Top racers just settled into their positions and that was it. Some minor fun with Checo passing and Sainz/Russel battle. I hope tomorrow is more entertaining.

Didn't like the max move on turn 1, that was clean racing I guess, but looked dirty.

^ The gap to Max is not important anymore, the most telling one is that LEW is 3 points closer to Checo from that one at 27. Can Checo hold on to limit the points damage from LEW (even with him finishing ahead of him) until the end of the season knowing the eyes of Carlos Slim and Mexico are on him.
