Innovation has stopped. Everything new is basically ugly. Stick to your older cars.

Interesting

Pros: exhaust tips, cool screens, flat bottom steering wheels

Cons: front center lower part - too many lines

There's no way they can make this any uglier than the current car…right?

Seats look like they have been taken from a Citroen CX Prestige, which is no bad thing.

Depends how one defines "innovation." "Innovation" for past couple decades has entailed safety, fuel economy, handling, etc. But the next step will entail EV range/charging times, objective performance metrics, and autonomous tech/AI. Automotive and Tech sectors were distinctly separate entities but now, thanks to Tesla, they are merging. Automotive/mobility sectors are where growth is now for Tech firms as they've mostly tapped out other sectors. Cars are essentially becoming rolling iPhones.

Personally I'm not a fan of where cars are going, but that's just the natural evolution of technology. Nothing we can do about it, the only constant in life is change.

Interesting. Seems like they're going retro with the design. Hope it comes together in a cohesive way that takes us back to the days of the luxury limousine business liner. Looking forward to it, but not holding my breath either.

Last gen S class interior? Why?
It’s already dated.

I like the wheel but yeah, looks like Mercedes as well.

I know it’s a test car but i remember the first spies of the G11 interior were disappointing/dated as well.
So i guess the story continues...

Not a fan of the interior panoramic screens. Looks tacked on. Might look better if they were integrated into the dash.

Just my opinion after seat time in a CLA45 but I like that setup. If BMW can execute it a little better where the steering wheel doesn't cover some of the screen real estate I like this better than the Tesla/Subaru Outback style big screen.

Sounds like we need the new Tesla steering wheel design!

The way MB is copying Tesla interior design I wouldn't be surprised to see that wheel in the new C63 AMG.

The seat looks pretty damn comfortable! I see a little overhang on the hood, it would be cool if they brought back a little shark nose, a la M6 from the 80's. Other than that, the S class is so good looking interior and out. They need to take a huge swing at this and create a car with a purpose.

Agreed.

Looks similar to a Mazda3 steering (a good thing). I Don't know why a 7 series needs a flat bottom wheel though.

Looks like some haptic controls as well. I wish manufacturers would just stick to hard buttons.

BMW knows their market. This will end up real nice for the target audience.

I agree, door placement is better and more convenient, although I wish they'd copy MB some more and add the heating/ventilation controls there as well, because now they are in the screen in a submenu.

I agree. I'm the target market and current owner, and I like it so far. Imagine an iX interior done up to 7-Series standards.

Most (not all) people who don't like the direction of the current and future 7 aren't in the market for one anyway.

reminds me of a sloth (front end) with the camo on

But I can't wait to see how it looks like without the camo.
