You can't compare it to other BMW's though. You have to think of this in terms or the Ford Focus, GTI, Mazda3 and Audi A3's out there. When you put them side by side, and run them around the track, the BMW immediately stands out.

Sorry for not reading, but is this made on the FWD platform they have been talking about for so long? Or is it still RWD?
It's only the LCI so it's still rwd.

That looks so much better than the previous model!

Especially the rear is also a huge improvement. Now the taillights no longer look tiny / cut off halfway. It certainly makes the car a look wider to me.

Aside from the 1M, I think this is likely to be the peak in how good a 1 series gets (M135i or 125d), next gen go UKL FWD transverse engines like the rest of the pedestrian hatchback world.

Sounds like the made these changes for the US market as UK forums are not impressed with it, so maybe they will bring it to the US

They need to bring that Stateside. Make Audi/VW a little nervous.

Bmw doesnt know who they are selling what hence the constant changes in design. Heck my previous f25 x3 was getting interior upgrades after 2 months! And I bought it new in 2011 so the car was out for 6m and allready bmw was doing a "mini lci to the interior)! Yes the worlds economy changes fast - this week out of the blue the swiss franc jumped 20% over € and $ and then traditional high selling markets changed too and bmw - maybe other manufact too - are all over the place. The feeling I get is that bmw has been chasing audi and the vw group (because they need to?) (going fwd design similar between all cars etc )and forgot what the brand is all about. So blame it on the world or on the managment and design team? My money is in the big boys in munich.

That said the lci improves over the original design - thank to us I would like to think despite scott saying he and his buddies laugh at our reactions to the design but the truth is that bmw doesnt seem to find our opinios very amusing and changes things we point out just look at the bmw i8 cant sell enough but bmw just introduced a mini lci to the interior this week to correct things I posted here in bimmerpost and told my dealer when he brought an i8 to my house for a test drive and i pointed out to him some of the plastics in it were worse than i rental renaul clio I drove in Milan

Not sure, cannot see standard specs yet. As a total guess I'd doubt it whilst the 2er and 3er still come with halogens standard; if/when that changes I'd want to see xenons standard on M sport 125i/d and above. I'd be very happy to be told I'm wrong though

I absolutely love this thing, wow. That's gotta be the best LCI in history, and it was badly needed.

Such a shame that this won't come to the US because this would hands down be my next car. Would absolutely get rid of E36 M3 and 4Runner for it. Imagine how good this would look in Estoril Blue.

This is a LCI, so don't celebrate too fast, in the next "new" model release below 5 series LED taillights will be surely gone again -.-

Nope N55, more or less the same engine used in the M235 which also has 320 or 326HP

It doesn't have the B58 engine, that will come at a later stage. It will still have the N55, but with the same tune that you find on the M235i.

They have it in Mexico and Bermuda can you at least give it a try in North America BMW! We never ask for the 3 and 5gt and got them after all. We just need the 120i, 128i and the M135i you already import theses engines in here. Nothing too complicated no?

So I hope this is an indicator that the M2 will have LED at least as an option.
