Oil service interval does not change

Hi, I'm a new BMW user. I've had my 2011 116i (F20) for 2 months and I am quite confused with the service schedules.
I bought it with 53,000km on the clock and is now at 56,000km

The scheduled service in iDrive has been indicating 16,000km since I bought it and has not changed ever since even with the extra 3,000km I drove.

Is it normal or do I have an issue?

It takes your driving style into consideration. If the previous owner drove the car like she stole it, and you drive it very gently, the indicated distance to service can increase.

Thanks for the quick reply. It makes sense now.
But doing over 16,000km with the same oil doesn't sound healthy to me.

Do all BMW owners wait this long? Can I just ignore it and change at 10k ?

Actually I think the normal oil service interval is up to 30000 km.
You can of course replace it earlier if you want.

Being used to older cars, I was a bit worried about waiting that long, but the oil was looking almost like new after close to 30000 km (including track days). In my older BMWs, the oil was looking rather black after 10000.

I have been running 50k km with 2 oil changes in between and the car is still good, it's been tuned stage 1 but will go in for a service soon.
Had a oil change at 53k and 54k, then around 75-80k also and now is sitting at 100.000km
