Ferrari Challenge at Nurburgring (May 22, 2022)
This was one category of many that took place. Several pics are of the top 3 finishers (1. gray/gold 2. green 3. silver) and then the rest of the competitors. I think this was my favorite category to witness and "listen" to.

Must say those F458 body coloured upper headlamp covers make the car look better.

Oh it absolutely was. One of the best times of my life I must say. I mean even the photos don't do it justice although I hope they help paint a picture for those that haven't been there, especially for such a special event.

![]() What I hadn't mentioned was how beautiful the drive to Nurburgring is. I didn't get a lot of shots of the area while driving but it was fantastic along with the perfect weather. On the way back to Dusseldorf we stopped by Cologne (Köln). Got some nice pics of the famous cathedral there but that'll have to be for another time. |

It is lovely driving through the Eifel area of Germany. This is the rental I had during my last trip there. It was a 530d with the M-sport pkg. A delight for touring around Europe.

At this time I like to remind you all - aside of the one who knows - that when you come to Germany and touring with a loaner and consider entering the Green Hell, most of the companies are excluding track using for their loaners.
So when you got an accident and it doesn't matter which fault it was, get prepared for paying for this, just saying.

Because afaik, during Touristenfahrten, the Nordschleife acts like a (privately owned) toll road and not a racetrack. During Touristenfahrten normal traffic rules apply afaik, and when accident occurs, police can get involved.

Most insurances in Germany have this exclusion into their policies and so you have to ask the individal company for their practices about taking a loaner onto a track. This is also valid for your own car and it doesnt matter at first glance who is guilty at the accident. The Nürburgring is a private property where German street law is valid but also considered by insurances as a track with high potential of getting damaged. So read your policy carefully, if you wouldnt get bad surprised. When you are going to hire a car at the Ring, then its another world because those cars are foreseen to take you onto the track. But be prepared that renting charges are exploding for the amount from - to when you are chosing the option "full". At lowest fare your part of paying any damage would end at the sum of 10000,- Euro overall, depends onto the renting office.

Looks like a lot of fun. Are you staying in one part of germany or tramping around?

I traveled around to a few different cities for work but had a free weekend to enjoy this event at the Ring which as you can see was indeed a lot of fun. I would love to have stayed another week honestly.
