F20 as big as E90

with too much free time at work i doodled out these arguably interesting statistics:

vehicle footprints in square inches(calculated as avg. track x wheelbase):

E36: 5915
E46: 6277
E90: 6484
F30: 6697
E82: 6172
F20: 6470


the 1 series relative to the 3 series is more square and therefore deceptively large.

Interesting indeed. More indicative of cabin space than length x width of entire car.

oh absolutely, obviously these measurements don't factor in overhang, height etc. but they do, imo, in addition to cabin space, reflect the dynamic intent of the car in terms of for example the dynamic stability conferred by the relatively wide tracks.
