Unhappy Incompleted NBT retrofit

Hello, i've been searching for this type of problem but couldn't find any similar.
I had basic CIC system without navi in my f20 2012.
Friend of mine offered me a change to NBT system - so i went for it. He finished first part(that is why i am asking, because he didn't finish...), so i got everything on it is place - new radio, new screen and new NAVI option on it
but... There is no longer "phone" option - i mean no BT calls
And it doesn't show USB mode (doesn't read a pendrive).

That is why i am asking - what exactly do i need to do to get back my two favorite options - usb and phone calls? Do i need to change any cables?
Can i code it using BIMMERCODE?

I think it depends on the retrofit. Did he use a nbt emulator? As I understand, you'll need to re-Configure the new unit so it matches your cars VIN number. This is done with e-sys but I'm not sure how.. :/
